The pro 12.9 is my favorite Apple device as well. I like the ASK paired to it and I found a decent back case online for $10. I'm very happy. Pdf viewing and annotating is awesome with the Pencil as well.
I traded my 9.7" Pro for the 12.9"... wow am I glad I did. Side-by-side notes and PDFs is awesome. The only "problem" is that I still feel a little weird using it in public, but that I will get over quickly, I hope. Can't wait to use it this fall in law school.
My touch screen PC can do the same thing for me, in a less intuitive way though. You'll be very happy with it in law school. As a lawyer, my iPad is my favorite tool -- I still haven't gotten over the delight of marking up PDF cases/exhibits on the same device I use to type fairly lengthy documents. There are plenty of opportunities when it makes sense to do that in side-by-side mode as well.

After I bought my 12.9" IPP in April, I soon found that I never took my 2015 rMBP 15" out of the house anymore. So, rather than keep a 15" "desktop", I sold it (for a good price) and purchased an Apple Certified refurbished 27" iMac 5k.It is awfully close between this and my 2015 MacBook Pro with retina, but I absolutely love this device.....

Even with the Smart Keyboard attached, the IPP is about half the weight of the 15" rMBP, and serves double-duty as a laptop and tablet. I agree that the software is still too limited, however. This has forced me to re-think how I handle some tasks -- for example, group emails with multiple attachments. (I discovered that my "power user" background actually worked against me!)
Once Apple makes it possible to directly move files on and off the device, Tim Cooks assertion that the IPP is the only computer you need will be closer to reality.
I totally understand waiting for version 2. (SO GLAD you didn't write "revision 2"!) This is my usual policy, but I made an exception for the IPP because I found a brand-new, sealed 128gb LTE model on ebay for $800!Agreed the 12.9 Pro is a great device and at this point, I think I will hold off until version 2 arrives, which will be sooner than you think.

Hopefully Apple does release the next iteration in the fall, and not next March, as some tech writers are predicting.
Admittedly, it is wishful thinking to expect a new iPad Pro in September. Apple once released two iPads in one year (iPad 3, iPad 4), but that was in 2012 when iPad sales were still climbing. (Feels like ancient history, now).I definitely don't see the 12.9 Pro being updated in September, there are to many reasons why Apple won't do that, Consumer exhaustion, not to mention the 12.9 inch has only been on the market for nine months. I honestly would be shocked if we saw an updated version in September. At the earliest, March 2017, which would also be the one year anniversary of the 9.7 Inch.

Yes, this fall will be the MacBook Pro's time to shine, after not having been updated for 16 months (longest period EVER for MBPs!).Agreed. Which is what leads me to believe we may only see an updated iPhone 7 and possibly a MacBook Pro for hardware in the fall.

Normally I would be drooling in anticipation, but since I sold my 15" MBP, and replaced it with a 12.9" IPP + 5K iMac combo, laptops are no longer my preferred form of computers.

Perhaps you should try using fewer ad blockers. They may be working at cross purposes. If the site is being processed through multiple ad blockers, it may be part of the cause of the jerkiness and lag.i absolutely love it. my go-to device on a daily bases and a damn sexy beast to boot.
my only issue is Safari, runs like a pig. jerky and laggy as hell on image heavy sites. i have 5 adblockers running too. a re-load usually works....for 10 mins or so
yup, there are others out there, but i want the default safari. How in the hell Apple havent addressed this issue yet God only knows.
It doesn't show up under my list of apps whenever I swipe to the left to bring up the supported apps.
Because you are in slider over mode and not side by side.
What's the difference and how do I do side by side?

how is the ipad pro 12.9" weight while holding it for long periods of time? do you need to put it down for a break to rest your hands coz it's too heavy? or is it fine to hold?
