Well. The battery is just one of the magical thing about the iPad. Of course there are lot of things added up together like the App Store, User interface and most important is the USER EXPERIENCE!!!!
Uhm, this thread is about the battery life. If you want to compare app stores, UI, and UE please pick another thread. I'll be happy to add my opinion there, and promise not to use more than one exclamation mark (!) at a time. ;)

I had a first gen iPad, and it's battery was spectacular, and I'm not complaining about the iPad 2's battery, because it's great as well, but it isn't quite as good as what the first gen's battery was. When I brought my first gen iPad to school (~6 hours), I would come home with about 60% battery left, but with the iPad 2, I come home with around 50-40%. I still have a battery that lasts me twice what I need, but it's a bit misleading if you ask me if they advertise the battery life as being the same.

The Samsung 10.1 actually has a larger battery than the ipad, and for identical use should last another 10% longer.

LOL, that's a good one, should. :)

According to This is my Next's review, the new Galaxy Tab gets around 5.5 hours on the same battery test that the iPad gets 10 hours.

You should get an iPad and leave that Android garbage alone, 4D... This is an iPad forum.

I also think the battery of my iPad2 doesn't last as long as my previous iPad 1st gen. I still get enough for a day or two of usage, but I don't think battery life is spectacular.
However, I do feel that 'show percentage' isn't right on the mark though. I think it's counting down faster than the actual battery life.

You should read more than one review. I've got an iPad2, gate. Do I need to point you to a few accurate reviews of the Galaxy 10.1?

The battery life is definitely awesome. I usually get about 2-3 days out of a charge depending on how much I using it... Which is a lot! :D

Whats everyones battery experiences as far as watching videos? more so 720 ones? Im gonna be watching alot of movies on this thing when im traveling so it'd be nice even if it lasted a while longer then a laptop does when watching movies or episodes to a series.

+1 I continue to be amazed even after my kids pound away for hours on various games.

Still use my iPad I 32 gb 3G for Sonos and music remote and I can use it for literally hours to surf and emailing while listening and controlling my Sonos and I only need to charge it once a week.

The iPad 2 does not quite deliver the same stellar battery life (faster CPU=more battery drain) - but still is plenty nice :)
