Yes and no. This issue was only reported with the iPhone 4 initially, not when the software was installed on previous generation hardware. It's interesting that no one noticed it, but did notice it on the iPhone 4.
Each operating environment in the video tests is likely to be different. For me to rule out hardware as an issue, both units must have the exact same hardware, or extremely closely-relating.
What???
So what you're implying is that Everyone with iPhone 3G models and 3Gs models could have had this problem this WHOLE time, but never realized it until now??
My theory is this has to do with a certain settings.
For example it could be ANYTHING. anything random like 60% screen brightness, or hell Push turned off.. and brightness on half… or ANYTHING..
and that’s why the results are all Sporadic..
but the important thing to note here is that it’s not JUST the iPhone 4. Which means it can’t be a hardware issue.
Unless someone wants to IMPLY that 3G owners and 3Gs owners have had this problem this WHOLE time and never noticed it until now. which i think is ludacris.
It’s software. and based on settings.
~There, problem figured out. Now lets sit back and watch apple Say what i just said. and tell us what the exact setting/bug is.
RELAX! it's a software issue! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84Lpt2YkF3Q
i have a jb 3gs running the old 3.0.1 and old baseband.
i cannot no matter if i hold it left hand, right hand, both hands, shove it up my butt, get 5 bars to go down at all. the signal stays perfect.
this makes me think it could be a software issue, and its more prevalent because of the new hipster anttena on the i4
The fact that not everyone can reproduce this, does not help the software being the issue, case.
Disagree. The video on the home page is from 2008. And I really don't think a phone from 2008 had iOS4. So it is NOT a software problem.
