I'm not sure the big hype about the new camera... I honestly see no difference from the iPhone 4 camera. Anyone else feel the same way?

If you can't tell the difference, than it won't matter to you. It's not like you are shooting with a DSLR, but for those who pixel peep, the difference is definitely noticeable.

The iPhone 4s out shoots both of my wife's DLSR . One is an 8mp Cannon and the other is a Sony 12mp.

Anyone thinking this camera is nothing special is kidding themselves. The only thing that would make it better would be xenon for nighttime flashes.

Just because you don't see it doesn't mean its not there. Its ok you don't have to feel bad about sticking with your iPhone 4...its still a good phone. Reassured now?

Now, the 4S is good camera phone, but that statement is a load of garbage. The 4S doesn't hold a candle to even the original digital Rebel. I've owned 7 DSLRs and even the very first ones destroy the 4S in every way. It is much better than the 4, though.

yea if u zoom in 1000x the 4s looks better... but for example i wouldnt be on fb and be able to tell 4s vs 4

Funny, I found the overall shots in his examples to be more dramatic than the close ups. That is if you prefer natural colors and less noise.

Yep.

I would hope that a camera that was built to fill a single function can out perform something that provides countless other functions and costs much less. That is unless you can make calls on a DSLR camera, then we're talking.

Will the iPhone 4S replace my point and shoot on vacations? Absolutely.

Are you serious or is it because the iPhones display is nicer to view the pics then the LCD on the cameras?

No we pulled the pics up one her vaio. iPhone 4s was better. You want me to post them?

If the pictures ARE better on the 4S, it's because the 2 of you don't know how to properly use the DSLR; or purposely took poor photos PERIOD.

Then you don't know how you use your DSLRs or are using garbage lenses. Period. There is not a single area that the iPhone 4S out performs ANY DSLR on the market, or ever on the market. I own the 4S, I have owned the Canon Digital Rebel, the Canon 30D, the Canon 1D Mark II, the Canon 1Ds Mark II, the Olympus E-P1, the Panasonic GH1, GH2 and G1, and every single one of them absolutely demolishes the 4S in every conceivable way. Resolution, dynamic range, noise control, color response, etc. It's not even close.

The 4S is a good camera phone, but competition for a DSLR, it is not.

Hey so uhh..I'm just up the road near Akron...have any of those cameras just laying around that you'd like to donate?!

Yeah and if you listen to really compressed MP3's you won't be able to tell the difference between Apple's earbuds and real headphones.

The iPhone 4 camera was pretty good. As the cameras get better and better, each incremental improvement will be less apparent.

Personally, I was at a farm with the kids today feeding all sorts of animals. I kept the Sony NEX-5 with my 200mm lens in the bag. The SGS2 was just as good. ;)

lol Dang how am I going to decide between the iP4a and SGS2 now?!
