Stay far far away from the Stowaway, unless you like glossy black plastic that gets all smudged up and greasy everytime you touch it, and a cheap pair of 1 mm biscuit clasps on the lid that is responsible for holding all of your credit cards secure, which may easily come loose and can leave said cards splayed out all over the subway platform.

You've been forewarned.

Darn wish I would have read this before I ordered it through Amazon (it was 18 bucks there)... I will give it try though when it gets here tomorrow.

Heh, I wrote the one negative review on Amazon, but I seem to be the minority there so Jason could be right lol.

There was that one other reviewer on New Egg who questioned the durability of the lid. To be more specific, the lid is held closed by two biscuit joints that fit into small slits on the side of the lid. If there's any give on that hinge I can see the lid popping right off and there go all your credit cards. Personally I wouldn't trust keeping my cards in there and would like to see a sturdier clasp on it, but you'll get to judge for yourself.

Another thing that turned me off was that the official product photos are not fully representative of the product, and nowhere is it mentioned that the credit card compartment isn't really a compartment at all. The lid is cut out of the back of the case, and the credit cards go under the lid and rub up against the back of your phone. They include this plastic film for the back of your phone so your credit cards don't end up scratching it.

What's worse, the film they provide is a one piece film that does not take into account the plastic top and bottom, and the aluminum back of the phone (quality back films come in 3 pieces). The plastic film they provide looks and fits horribly on your phone. If you use the Stowaway, be prepared not to take your phone out of it unless you want to see this ugly piece of clear plastic covering the back of your phone. Or you can always spend some extra $$$ for a quality back film.

Finally I'm not a big fan of the plastic of the case itself. Glossy black, and feels slippery in your hand. If the finish were textured or rubber I'd add a star.

In any case, YMMV.

well we will see lol..

So I got my Incipio stowaway today and I must say, I am really liking it so far. The case adds some bulk to the phone, but it feels like it can withstand some abuse, and it comes with a screen protector which I havent installed yet. The card compartment holds two of my cards well but starts to bulge when adding a third so I will see if I can get by with just the two and no wallet (finally!). For $18 bucks, im definitely satisfied.

Ha! I'm glad you like it. Goes to show how people's tastes differ.

I just ordered the Speck Smartflex today and will hopefully get it by the end of the week. I narrowed down my choices to the Marware Stash of the Speck Smartflex, but I looked through youtube, amazon, google, and the itunes store and couldn't find a single review on it :/ so I was a bit iffy. I'm still curious though, does any one have the Stash or may know of a review somewhere of it?

I'll try to post my impressions of the case when I get it, since there are already a few on this thread

Edit: oh, I just read a site saying the Stash isn't even out yet lolss

I ordered Quirky's Keeper case:
I received mine yesterday. It's beautiful. Once your ID and two cards are in place, the case does pull at the snap closure, becoming a bit bulkier than expected. Also, the ID slot is different than what is pictured. The leather border is much thicker and there is no plastic cover. This is probably a longer-lasting design, but it covers up so much of my college ID, that I may have to take it out to show when entering each building--which negates the entire reason I bought this case. The bottom and top edges of the case are open, which might allow more chances for the iPhone's damage, but I love that I don't have to take the case off to use the 30-pin adapter. Overall, I like this case a lot, and it seems very well made. It's still worth the purchase regardless of the flaws I've found.

do people care about money clips on their wallet cases?

do people care about money clips on their wallet cases?

this was huge factor for me.. but for what i'm seeing here doesnt seem to be a factor in people's decision when buying a case
