So YOU can tell the difference between quad core processors running at different speeds? I'm impressed.

I can tell the difference by using my eyes to see the obvious differences between the phones. Different processor speeds? You just said they all have the same specs. I'm not impressed.

If Apple brought a phone out with the same spec as the GS3, you lot on here would say its the best thing ever.....follow follow...baa baaa:D , can't somebody admit that this will be the best mobile phone released to date???

So now you're saying that Android brings "choice" by way of different cases and physical appearances?

Did I say Android brings choice by way of cases and appearance? No? Then no I didn't say that, you did. I said I can tell the difference between Android phones by looking at them.

I can tell the difference between a Razr and a S2 because they look totally different. I can even tell the difference between the Razr and Razr Maxx simply by looking at it. Can you tell the difference between the iPhone 4 an 4S? There is a lot more different with the iPhones then the Razr's plus their was more time between iphone releases so surely you can spot the differences by looking at it. :)

Actually, the only choice you have is the manufacturer's label on the back. If you took the label off, nobody would be able to tell the difference as they all have about the same exact specifications to them. Which is what Android users live on, specs.

Every manufacturer has a different flavor of Android they install. It is very much NOT the same. Touchwiz is almost incomparable to Sense which is almost incomparable to BLUR. Believe me, fans of any specific flavor can surely tell the difference. Hardcore Android users are about specs, but the average user cares about as much about specs as the Average iOS user does. And no, Android phones don't come anywhere close to having all about the same specs.

Honestly, I can't tell if you truly believe all this and are simply that misinformed or if you are just making things up as you go.

I'd say the difference between a razr and razer max is comparable to the difference between a 4 and 4S. You can distinguish them every time, but only if you know what you are looking for.

Why is it even a question whether it'll have decent competition? Samsung's Galaxy S II put up a big fight this last year. The iPhone's lackluster 4S upgrade put's Apple in an even worse spot than before.

The Galaxy S III will rock.

Lackluster...HAHAHAHAHA yeah...single biggest selling smartphone. Ohhh WELL...back to the drawing board for Apple?

Beyond that, I love the Samsung Galaxy S2 and I do hope and expect the 3 to be awesome.

Apple seems to think so. It's all their ads focus on..
I actually think the best feature is the camera stabilizer that as far as I know is not available on any other phone.

my girlfriend's mum just bought an S2 and it shows a black screen during calls so you can't hang up. She accidentally calls people. The phone randomly turns off and on for no reason. The phone is laggy and chunky. Even writing text messages is slow and cumbersome. The phone is a brick and does not look attractive one bit. Sorry but Samsung make crap phones imo.

My friend owned a 3gs for about a year then went to a galaxy s2 for about 3 months. He now uses the 3GS again even though it is slow compared. He just hates the way android is. iOS is much nicer and simpler to use as a phone. That is the way things should be. They should just work and do what they are meant to do as well as look nice.

I have to troll. I have to say it!. Only apple fanmembers can seriously complain about having too much in a device. Apple's slogan on "Think different" meant to look outside of the box, not confine yourself to one which is what most of apples products seem to do.

With that said. I do love my Macbook pro and iphone very much so, so put the guns away and appreciate the fact that competition from companies who put too much into their phones are the reasons why you even get a miniscule upgrade year after year. :)

BS:rolleyes: I don't know what S2 your talking about but I have an AT&T GSII and 4S. It's barely bigger then my 4 or 4S at 4.3", and a little thinner actually. Laggy? Uhhh no, buttery smooth and fast. Blank screen?? Uhhh it's just like the iphone, it's blank durring talking, the second you move or do something it goes back on.. you know... just like the iphone and pretty much any phone  . Random calls??? sure... Looks? Well that's subjective, 4/4S look great, too bad we have to have a case on them hiding any beauty since it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when it will get dropped or knocked off. I'm not saying it looks better than the 4S/4, but fail to see how the GSII is ugly. It's thin, shaped very well and looks sharp and classy with the capacitive buttons, the design as far as looks is always a standout point in any reviews that even mention that point.

sorry but I love calling out post like this as I still own an 4 and 3GS in addition to the 4S. GSII is simple, I mean what else do you want. Want to make a call, press the phone icon, want to text, press the text icon, want to go online, press the browser icon. Man is that complicated lol. Where the difference is, if somebody wants, there is a ton of customization you can do to it stock which I prefer. Same reason I jailbreak the iPhones to get rid of Apples restrictions.

the "just works" is so overused, you mean the same "just works" that has had a bunch of issues and glitches lol. Not to say Android is issue free, but Apple isn't either.

I'm seriously considering switching over.

I'm getting sick of apple always Lagging behind in cutting edge tech. There is no reason not to have a larger screen, with 4G technology, with many JB features already enabled from the factory.

The walled garden is getting old.

A larger screen is not cutting edge. The original iPhone could have had a 5" screen but apples research lead them to a 3.5" screen. It is pretty clear Samsung has done no such research.

Cool, are you willing to swap phones with my girlfriend's mother then?

Samsung doesn't research. They take what has already been researched or just pull something out of their behind.

Speaking of pulling stuff out of your behind, I present Kingjosh's posts!

Anyway, in all seriousness, what I'm about to say is coming from an Apple fan.

The ones who continuously propagate the myth that Apple products, namely the iPhone in this case, are perfect and "just work" are actually doing disservice to the brand and to other fans of the iPhone. And so when I recommend an iPhone to people who have bought into this myth, and something doesn't work, people are confused and feel mislead. They risk becoming disenchanted.

While problems may not have happened to you personally, the fact of the matter is that glitches and problems do exist. Antennaegate, disappearing icons, a keyboard that can't keep up with fast thumbing speeds (have you seen how many iPhone autocorrection websites there are out there for our entertainment and amusement?), folders sometimes causing lag, etc. The list goes on.

So if you truly are an Apple fan (or a fan of anything), the best way to promote it is to actually be honest and realistic about it.This is known as intellectual honesty, and in the long run, that'll do better service to Apple.

Think id just take it back and get a replacement if i had all those issues. Dont have to be a genius to figure that one out.

As for your second comment .........

cool story. Now go check out the new Apple store on front page and then tell me that Apple don't put more effort into their stuff vs Samsung.

Do you have a source for this? It'd be an interesting read for me, as I haven't found any data about this. I'm curious as to how they came to the conclusion that 3.5" is the best...

I don't think anyone will argue how popular it is. But you have to admit the release was somewhat disappointing. A lot of people were expecting a lot more some where anticipating the 5 not 4S even.

I think the tech review coined the term lackluster for it release.

So when Apple releases a phone bigger than 3.5" what then? Their new research told them that 3.5" wasn't good enough now?

Steve Jobs said so! That should be enough for all. After all, he knew everything better than everyone else right?

There have been enough times when his belief that he knew better didn't serve him well.

Funny how you can tell whose actually had experience with both phones. As those of us on here that own both, seem to have a completely opposite experience vs the random "my mothers best friends uncles sons niece has this phone and all the issues blah blah blah" post  . If it is true, why not get it replaced? Afterall you want "simple"... pretty easy to go back to the store and get a replacement vs putting up with a phone that isn't working right.... right? B/c we all know Apple has never had an issue and nobody has ever taken their phone back for replacement  . Now why does that sound familiar.... oh yeh, they replaced one of our 4s.

Meh, the op has enough credibility calling the next Samsung an iPhone killer as the companies/people in those links.

Samsungs current marketing may have people thinking iPhone killer but they aren't actually saying that. Don't get me wrong I don't like smear campaigns either, just like I didn't like it when apple was doing it.
