The space grey doesn't look very grey...wish Apple would stop cheaping out on the coating.

Remember when the 5 first came out in black? Everyone complained how easily it collected very visible nicks and scratches. The lighter 'Space Grey' was Apple's answer, and you don't hear the complaints anymore.

That's what I mean. Would've been great if Apple used a better slate coat after the 5 so that it didn't scuff so easily. Instead the space grey coat was used on the 5s so that scuffs were less visible. The space grey looks great on the 5s, I'm saying that it seems like the coating is even lighter on the 6 (from the photos posted).

Just look at the official comparison photos from the Apple website: huge antenna bands, protruding camera, generally unattractive back; ugh. What do you think?

So you don't see the big, differently colored glass antenna-windows on the back of the iPhone 5/5s?

The iPhone 6 is brilliant - something new but still iPhone.
Getting the iPhone 6 in gold.

It looks like almost all the previous iphones except for the 1st generation iphone maybe. Unless you are like into fashion and care about the finest details like how curved the sides are or how shiny the Apple logo is on the back

Wish space grey was darker like the old one ... other than that the design is fine ... and the front is gorgeous

The phone will probably feel and look stunning in hand.

Those antenna lines and divides are very clumsy though. I will overlook it due to the rounded edges and gloss finish on the front which is where i will spend 99% of my time looking.

The front looks great. But I agree the back is the least attractive out of all iPhones. Even the 5C back looks better

The part that looks off for me is the antenna strips, personally. They look kind of odd because there's still the metallic portion that shows--if they were solid on the back like the iPhone 5/5S it would look better IMO. As it is the black looks best because there's less contrast.

Otherwise it looks good to me. The camera protrusion is minor, and I'll have to see if it bothers me in real-world use because it's not an aesthetic killer like most phones and what I was expecting.

It's like any new design. What it actually feels like and looks like in your own hand is what matters, and for an iPhone the design's so different from what I'm used to I can't quite guess right now.

I think they look good, they are just way too big. There doesn't seem to be that much change from the 5S as far as design goes beyond making it bigger.

I thought the exact same thing. But I think the reason is obvious...Samsung.

To be honest I was expecting a much better design from Apple. I am big fan of Apple, or
I should say I WAS a big fan of Apple before. After seeing iPhone 6, I have to say that Apple did EXTREMELY poor job. How on earth anyone can appreciate these ugly antenna stripes. I mean how come anyone can ever like them? It is strange that Apple design department even thought of that design. I am EXTREMELY disappointed. Not only me but everyone I know is hating iPhone 6 design mainly because or these teeth filling style ugly antenna lines. Super Ugly!!

I suspect they will look much nicer in person, but since I always use a case anyway, I probably won't ever see the stripes (which also eliminates protruding camera lens).

I think the renderings we've seen look great! I'm looking forward to the curved sides.

I don't use a case (97% of the time) so I'll be one of the "crazies" who gets to enjoy the actual design of the phone.

i like the way apple design before , on top and bottom different color ,

^ My favorite design and color.

The protruding camera doesn't bother me, but the antenna bands do. The gold looks hideous, in my opinion. With that being said, I pre-ordered a white/silver 6.

I'll be sending mine off to be anodized into a custom colour, but the design itself is pretty hideous to my eyes. I'm not worried about the protruding camera (I've had an iPod Touch for ages and the camera isn't affected at all, nor is it very noticeable) but those antenna lines look terrible and there's still way too much bezel. The Home button will surely be sacrificed on the iPhone 7.

Why lock the thread just because something's subjective? Doesn't that rather undermine the point of a discussion forum?

"The iPhone 6 is ugly" as a title is presented in a definite manner and its subjective. It should be "Do you think the iPhone 6 is ugly?"

While I don't like the gold, I wouldn't call the 6 ugly, the grey and silver both look classy, it's just a pity the gold didn't have more complementary colours for the antenna bands.

Ugly or not, I think a better question is this: Did Apple make any compromises on the design elements of the iPhone 6?

My answer would be yes.

In nearly every promotional picture, Apple presents the phone as being perfectly flat, conveniently masking (or simply failing to present) the protruding camera.

This current iteration lacks the attention to detail that defined the previous designs. I still think the iPhone 4/4s was the most forward-thinking, classic design that Apple has produced.

The only thing I really dislike is the protruding camera. The bands don't really bother me.
