You would have to be rather stupid to crack a glass body. Only monkeys drop their iPhones.

Metal will simply chip away in your pocket over time.
Hasn't happened with my gold 6s+....I have one dent near the headphone jack only because I dropped it really hard

Metal in my opinion is far superior and more durable than glass backs in both feel and durability.

You have to acknowledge the fact that accidents happen. It doesn't matter how careful you are, things happen.
People like yourself are the reason Apple was forced to switch from glass to metal, and therefore made it impossible to carry around a naked phone without getting any signs of wear over time. My 4S never had so much as a scratch on it.

You're a real funny guy. How the heck can you account for someone unexpectedly bumping into you, causing you to drop your phone or similar situations? You can't, accidents happen.

Does not have to be glass. It can be made out of plastic or a composite material.

Long ago our phone were all made out of plastic. For instance the old Blackberry phones were made out of plastic and it was the same color all the way through. So a scratch or scuff did not show near as bad. I have guns made out of plastic so there is no way they can not use this instead of glass. Todays phones are anodized or painted to make them pretty at the cost of making them more susceptible to damage.

Either one does not matter. With an edge to edge screen with very little bezel, the 8 will not be forgiving when dropped.

You can watch your surroundings.

Someone coming unexpectedly out of nowhere? You have no sense of logic, do you? Not just accidents, someone could have serious things on their mind, be really tired or seriously stressed out. All of which could lead to a moments lapse of concentration and you've dropped something.

Don't tell me you've never dropped anything in your life. If you're not able to accept the fact that no matter how careful & vigilant you are, accidents can and will happen. Just because you've never dropped your phone, doesn't mean anyone that has is stupid or a monkey as you say.

By the way, I never said I've dropped my phone. I can just understand that things happen. But if you can't understand that, it says more about you than someone who might drop their phone.

Yes, you always need to be watching your surroundings, no matter what. No one cares if you're tired or stressed, as one mistake when crossing a road on any given day for example could mean getting run over.

Just because there are monkeys on the street, doesn't mean the rest of us need to be penalised with a phone that has its finish chipping away over time simply by being in our pocket.

I guess there's no need for there to ever be any road traffic accidents then, as we should all make sure we're vigilant enough to avoid them.

I'm glad people like you exist, makes me realise I could be a lot worse off.

I was talking about others crashing into you. Because with your logic, you should easily be able to avoid a drunk driver who suddenly swerves into you. Some things are unavoidable.

I better leave it there, this is way off topic and you clearly can't see the point of anything.

If you're vigilant, yes, you can avoid a drunk driver. There's no need to be upset that you dropped your phone due to inattentiveness.

as someone who got hit by an inattentive driver and likely to have to deal with a limp the rest of my life, I find your over-simplification of things extremely insensitive. maybe you think you're smarter than everyone or that its just fun to make inflammatory statements from the comfort of internet anonymity. I agree *everyone* needs to make their best efforts to keep things safe, but your angle of victim blaming is toxic.
