I'll be waiting for the redsn0w un tethered version for my iPhone 4.

5.1 brings very little to the able for me !
 
OTA updates fail on jailbroken devices by the way. If Apple really wanted to hose jailbreakers they'd stop failing these installs.....
 
Waiting for the flood of "OH NO I UPDATED CAN I DOWNGRADE" posts.

I was having some issues, glad I was able to restore and start fresh last night.

This sucks. We have to be extremely careful what and how much we install now. Hoping the jailbreak gurus figure something out for us.
 
So, no JB on 5.0.1??

This is likely a stupid question but was/am just about to dip my toes into the jailbreaking world (have a refurb 3gs arriving tomorrow that I believe will be running 5.0.1 and was planning on playing around on that). Does the fact that apple might be no longer signing SHSH blobs for 5.0.1 mean I won't be able to jailbreak? Or just that if things go bad I'll be screwed.

Sorry for being so uninformed on this - haven't had the chance to read about it at all...

No, as long as its on 5.0.1 you will be able to JB.
You can even pull its 5.0.1 shsh blobs using redsnow and upload them to cydia so you can restore your 3GS back to 5.0.1 whenever you want.
Its just us 4S and ipad 2 owners that are stuck and if we need to restore we cannot stay or go back down to 5.0.1 even with the blobs we currently have.

Yes, it is challenging at the beggining but ask questions and research a bit before you start actually attempting things.
Would be nice if AT&T unlocked them but I dont think they're that nice and all they care about is their pocket and not the customer.
 
Makes me not want to install anymore tweaks. My 4s is running stable and would like to keep it that way.

That doesnt mean anything.
There will always be a tethered JB for non A5 devices.
Just because they updated redsnow to work with the latest 5.1 for the tethered JB doesnt mean it shouldnt be long for any kind of untethered JB's for any device on 5.1

Good thing I upgraded to 5.0.1 just several days ago and immediately performed an untethered redsn0w jailbreak. Not having it jailbroken until June/July would be horrible tbh.
