I swear something is going on here.
I've been watching most of the conversation regarding battery life and this is what I see:

50% of the people have insanely good battery life
50% of the people have mediocre battery life

The differences I see between these two is 70-100% more battery life...

How in the hell did you get this usage? I am looking at
56% with 4 hours and 2 minutes usage and 7 hours and 27 minutes standby.
This morning at 40%. However you can subtract 4 hours from my usuage as I did listened to music 4 hours within this time in a single charge.

What are you doing to get these numbers?
I have location service on. True Tone On, Background refresh is On (but only to specific apps I use often). I get a lot of text message via KakaoTalk, I check insta. I check Facebook (But I force close FB after I finish), etc. I do use my phone daily btw.

I got my X Maybe 2 weeks ago, and It has probably 2-4 cycles on it
(i dont use my x much i still use my 2.5yo 6S+ Which ,in my opinion, is an amazing phone even in 2018)
But the battery life is wierd really...
Every few Minutes i take a Look at the guage It goes down a few percents specially If i turn the ohone Off at 100percent and turn it on after a few days it Goes down Fast

I mean its not like horrible battery, but Feels Like its worse than my 2.5year old 6S+ battery with maybe over 1000cycles on it; the phone performs Great The geekbench score is Higher than average (Both multicore & singlecore)
I got 4250/10519 on single/multicore ,And the camera Is fantastic
The speakers are Crazy loud, The build quality is amazing
the LTE modem acts A bit wierd it doesnt feel the same
i mean, its not slower just seems to run hotter ,wierder(gives my hand a Buzzing feeing if i put my hamds On the camera lens while using LTE i'm using a cover so thats not a problem but it definitly Made my skin feel like burning, buzzing, some wierd feelings i cant describe... i dont know!)

I really doubt its a defective battery im not sure; it seems like aperfectly working phone To me

Appriciate your views on this guys
And sorry for my english

Try a restore using iTunes and set it up as new. If that doesn't work, it's something wrong with your phone.

Thanks For reponse,
I don't think theres anything wrong with It ,Since the batery life app(there are lots of them on the app store But Almost everyone Uses the one that shows wear level on its home screen) and its On 0 percent the app seems to be accurate,
Wear level on my ipad pro is 5%(which seems Ok to me, since It's probably Got 300-400 cucles on it)
1% on an iphone SE with ~100cycles (cycle numbers are obviously not accurate)
And on my 2.5 years old 6S+ with maybe 1000+cycles 19-23% wear level

And the geekbench scores are On par with average Iphone X scores (It's got higher scores Than any iphone X geekbench scores i've ever seen online, and of course on par with geekbench's average Score for iphone X)

LTE always Drains the Battery fast, nothing new, using waze with LTE drains It even faster, So i guess it must be normal,
It's not the "extremly great" Battery life people are talking about but ,Seemingly there is No wear ...,No overheating No wierd charging issues

Anyways thanks for response!

And I've got one more question

Ive Got spigen Slim armor C5 Case for Iphone x and it's a credit card case
Obviously i will be taking credit cards Out of the case before I put in on the Wireless charging pad(mophie in my case)

But the case seems a bit too thick,It does charge and if i leave it, and It doesnt charge slowly even when Its in the Case,
But i'm curious whether this can some how damage the battery(iphone Battery)

Maybe Since it's uneven this can Cause wierd issues i'm unware of i don't know
honestly i'm new to wireless charging
So I apologize if It's a stupid qustions ,
Since there are no apple stores in my country , i would want to make sure That I dont damage my phone ;cause if i do ,i can probably do nothing about it

I do not turn anything off and consider myself a medium user. Return home with average of 50% remaining, but then I do not play with my phone all day long.
Same Here
I don't know what you mean by returning home
I mean From morning to noon/evening or Returning home at night?

My usage is Recording voices Of my classes at the University uploading Videos to the cloud via LTE(large Videos, like anywhere from 2-3gb (1080p/60fps) to 25-30gigs of 4K 30fps
Some Browsing youtube videos
Some Bibl which doesnt consume much energy i guess ,checking Out mails Instagram, telegram

Sometimes Personal hotspot with multple devices ,
I even download 60-100Gb steam games By hotspotting my phone To My Mac( i did these on my 6S plus and still do)

And i don't think many people use Their iphone for that , i mean , i know using iphone like a wifi model
For hours Gets it really hot(if you share your LTE with 2-4devices and download lots of data It will
Get pretty warm and will drain fast and it's normal)
But i have To,since In my country LTE is Faster than Wifi service providers i can get LTE modems too but for some reason they give me headaches ,i even get headaches If i use airpods,i bought them but don't use them normally i don't get headaches (I've never Got a serious headache in my life as far as i remember)
I heared Lots of people complaining about headaches after using airpod i don't want to go into that but well, that's why i use my phone as a Wifi hotspot Router

Sorry returning home means at the end of the day dropping it on the charging pad until the next day.

Come on!

You mean ...
You only use 1350mah everyday!?
OMG!
With the stuff i mentioned,i mean Even wifi modems With 3000mah battery drain faster Than this if i use Personal hotspot heavily while using my phone To upload large files and at the same time browse You tube instagram etc...
These stuff can kill any battery no matter how efficient it is,these Certainly use more than 1400mah I guess!

And my battery life is not terrible thiugh i dont use my X as my primary phone ,i like it but not as a Phone I should use for university i think I dont Want Wierd Cool lookin useless featuees like touch id and the notch,so i still use my 6S plus with a battery that has maybe 1000+ cycles On it(im typing this on the 6S+ right now! And it's on 11percent with 5:09min usage and 7hours 7min standby time
And this is a battery that has probably 70-75percent of it's designed capacity)
I guess I should buy 8 plus If there will be No newer phones with the same design as 6/7/8series

Any ideas on the 8plus being a good Buy in 2018, i maan If heres something better coming with the same designe I would wait
Maybe waiting would reduce the price of 8Plus?

If you have any suggestions on this let me know!...

Back to the Main topic of disscussion i think your battery life is Way Better than me ,but i dont think my device is defective ;i have a good battery life but nothing too crazy ,
But try charging your iphone X turn it off for 3 days Then use it...
Sometimes i feel like mewer batteries get better afer 40-50cyxles sounds wierd But for me ,i think sometimes that happens
And Leaving the phone turned off and turning it back on after a few days kinda reduces the battery life at least in my experience I didnt check
The times but it felt like its draining faster if I did that

God bless
I really appreciate your response man
This forum is important to people from countries like me,where there is No apple support i gotta figure everything Out myself or with online chat support(which usually doesnt work)
So Thanks a lot ❤️

Too much text, not going to read. You enjoy your phone and I will mine. I do not live on my phone. It is just a tool for communicating for me, not an entertainment center.
I'm sorry ,Of course i don't expect you to read it; it's a forum you can ignore a post because it's too long, or for whatever reason
Even if it quotes You, theres no need to say "hey I'm not reading that"; cause Nobody asked Nobody to read nothing, quotes Are Responses And they don't mean im asking for response ;i really do appreciate responses But honestly, im not Expecting/asking Anything

For me It's For Recording long videos Of classes ,Using hotspot when needed ,using Apps like complete anatomy(Drains battery quickly) ... mostly university-related stuff which drain the battery pretty fast

My question was not whether You enjoy your phone Or not,
I was asking about what is gonna be Last (best phone) before apple totally ditches the old design (the design of 6/7/8 series)
That is,if you have any ideas on that
Best wishes

Like I said my iPhone does what I need well and it works for me. Enjoyment, I guess as it does what I need it to do.

I see not problem in Apple ditching the 6/7/8 series as I have moved on to the X. I know others will miss but it is progress.

Hi there.

I’m just checking if my results are normal.

My X loses about 20% an hour surfing MacRumours on Safari with 60% brightness.

Videos (with speaker off) don’t drain as much.

All in all my real world SOT is like 5-6 hrs from 100 to 0 (extrapolated) over an 8-10 hrs period.

100% to 90% approx 1 hour.

Thereafter a 10% drain every 30-40 minutes. With medium brightness.

By the time I reach 60%, the SOT is 2hr 45 mins.

My X has a new battery that was replaced in Dec 2018. I’m at 171 cycles and 99% health according to Apple, Coconut and iMazing.

I have tried everything. DFU restore. Starting afresh. Background app refresh is off. Siri is off. Everything has been optimised.

How’s your X or XS doing?
[doublepost=1558094924][/doublepost]And I’m 110% sure it used to last at least 60-80% longer on iOS 11.

And when I did change the battery in December, it didn’t make too much difference back then.

But each iOS update (even minor ones) have always made battery worse for me.

What I want to know is do current XS users get the same 5 hrs SOT or do they get 8+ hrs like I used to get on iOS 11?

Mine has been fine on every version of iOS 12.

Take it off charge between 06:30-07:30 and I usually have to put it on charge between 21:00-00:00.

Can you post screenshots? Of Screen Time especially?

I can swear it used to last 9-11 hrs of the same type of usage on iOS 11 where it's dead in 4-5 hours.

Just browsing safari at medium brightness I lose 1% every 3-4 minutes. Doing mail I lose 1% in 3 minutes or so. Doing Tinder, Insta etc I lose 1% in 2-3 minutes.

And even that's not consistent.

Sometimes I don't lose a percent in 6-7 minutes. Other times I lose 1% every minute.

But it averages to be around 3% a minute.

The battery life is insanely bad.

There’s a flaw in your logic. Battery life will vary depending on the iOS. New iOS will pack more features that your device will need more efficient processor power and RAM. If you take a look at 5S/6, they sure do suffer on iOS 12 in term of performance and battery life. However, the SE processor can handle the iOS 12 but battery life did take a toll. Hence, newer devices have more efficient and power saving processors than older devices so each major iOS you will notice battery will not be the same depending on your usage. iOS 11 is not iOS 12. iOS 12 is the new norm until you can downgrade. I wouldn’t be surprised iOS 13 will not support those older devices.

So you accept iOS 12 halves the battery of the X over iOS 11?

So you accept iOS 12 halves the battery of the X over iOS 11?

And may I know what’s the flaw in my logic?

:)

And may I know where did you find any explanation/reasoning in my post? :) It was written as a mere observation.

My MAX has the same great battery life that it did on iOS11

Yes. It’s expected the Max on iOS 12 will have the same battery life as X on iOS 11.

That’s why I’m asking people to compare:

X on iOS 11

X and XS and even XS max on iOS 12
