I love the bigger screen and the extra battery life, but carrying the phone around is uncomfortable and isn’t very practical. As a matter of fact, I have to buy new pants with deeper pockets because the ones I currently have now all make the iPhone stick out and end up jamming my hip when I sit down. How do you cope with larger phones when it comes to portability?

Key advantage of being femalle:

I simply drop my 11 Pro Max in my Brighton organizer purse main pouch
The front magnetic compartment holds 3 credit cards and a small amount of currency. The main pouch's sole responsibility is to hold my 2 phones; 1 work, 1 play.

Bonus:
When on a plane next to a male geek (I use that word fondly) it's a minor thrill to show my 2 phones (now a 11 Pro Max and XS Max) and say,
"I have more cores than you."
:) :) :)

@dragon4ever, what size phone are you coming from?
I've seen a lot of guys carry large phones on their belt.

Which jeans have deeper pockets to fit Pro Max with some room to spare? Mine just barely fit it without it sticking out.

I hear you Dragon4ever - while I never carry my phone in my jean pockets, it’s quite noticeable to carry in some jacket pockets. So if that is not possible I usually always wear a laptop bag, or rucksack to and from work or when I’m out and about. So the phone goes in there in a Fitbag sleeve without further protection - no case or panserglass.

Right now I decided on the 11 Pro coming from the Max. I love the phone, but can’t help shake the feeling that I should have gone with the 11 Pro Max - but the normal 11 Pro is definitely more manageable. Battery a bit shorter then on my previous Max.

I have some levi's and another off brand pair I got at costco. Phone fits fine in both. Fits fine in all my shorts too.

Plus sized phone in ‘hybrid’ beach shorts is not fun. Add losing weight to the mix and my XR could be like tequila.
I went smaller this time, 11P.
I wear mostly athletic shorts on my days off, I know the struggle! How are you liking the smaller phone?

So happy to be back to 11 Pro (not Max) here. Tried Max/Plus in past, and just was never comfortable... and it's much easier to reach 'across' screen now with one hand to clear notifications or check messages.

I have had the bigger phone ever since they made plus sizes. Never been an issue to carry around in my pocket. I honestly don't understand what people are whining about.
My wife also has the bigger size phone as does my oldest daughter. Neither of them have ever complained.

Same here. I’ve never had issues carrying it around in my pockets.

Has been driving me mad today, I know the max is a burden but I went into the apple store lunchtime and I kind of want to swap my pro for the max.

I could probably utilize the 11 Pro Max but I just do not find the size comfortable when using. It is too large for my hands and it is uncomfortable in the Otterbox with the belt clip. This is obviously a PERSONAL opinion when I say it is just too big. It works for plenty of others and that is GREAT as it is a PHENOMENAL device. Thankfully Apple makes a smaller model with the same exact specs. :)

I know man bags or murses isn’t quite a thing in the US as it is in other countries, it’s somewhat catching on in big cities. But yeah, I keep my stuff in a cross body bag. Doesn’t matter what phone size.

Exactly! This thread is for opinions of each size, and I'm glad Apple gives us a choice.

I think some people just take it too personally if others don't like same thing they do. Most of my friends use Max/Plus... but it's not for me.

Hahahaha just pay a dressmaker to enlarge the pockets, it will probably be cheaper and help the environment.

I have sent to fix all my pants after my 7+

The 11 (non Pro) is big and heavy... can´t use the 11Pro because of PWM, but I would choose the smallest one if I could.

Thinking on going back to the 8, I´ll miss portrait and night mode of the camera...

Holy ****. This guy knows about the secret that is hybrid beach shorts. They are the best.

and i also fully agree, the only time i dislike my 8+ is during summer when i always wear the hybrids. Other than that i love the big size phone.

can you pm me which hybrid shorts you buy? Looking to pick up more.

Helps a lot as we don’t have to conform to all this fitting in the pocket nonsense. On another note I’m just so used to large phones now. Had various Samsung galaxy notes, then the 6 plus, 6S plus and 7 plus and now the Xs max.

This is why I think the 6.1 inch size of the 11 is really the perfect size. I had plus size phones that were too big in the pocket, and I had an X for 2 years, and wanted a larger screen. I got the 11 and im happy.

It has only been a day but IMO the 11P size is the perfect in-hand fit. I wish I had a bit more space for photos/editing but in Photos and Lightroom editing you can zoom the image to the entire screen so that helps. If the battery life is on par with the XR/11 I will likely stick with it.
