Love it

Loving these posts, great way to cheer me up on a Monday.

You guys/gals are so funny:
"Next time I will NOT wait so long, I will just buy whats out" - Erm, yes you will and you know you will, and why 'next time'? You can do it now, need me to send you a link.....

"If it doesnt come out next week then I will not wait any longer.." - Erm, yes you will, you have waited this long and next week the rumor will be that its coming the following week, so you will wait, you know you will.

"If it doesnt come next week I'm buying a laptop" - WTF? So if Apple dont release a new iMac you are going to buy a completely different line of device?? How on earth does that make any sense at all? And in which case why didnt you pull the trigger on my MBP ages ago?

Worth mentioning that I am waiting on a new iMac, my 2008 model is creaking and I know a new model will be of benefit to me, but all the 'threats' are really a little childish, I get that some people want to let off a bit of steam but seriously, if you are considering shelling out a few grand on a machine I would have thought you would be grown up enough to know that you either bite the bullet and get an awesome current model iMac or wait in the full knowlege that Apple will release a new one WHEN THEY ARE GOOD AND READY, they don't owe any of us anything.

Wait?

If it's "just a mere spec bump" I'll wait for Haswell !!! And I strongly recommend everyone that has the possibility to wait to do the same : we gotta launch a message to Apple, they can't **** us this way ...
I'm not sure I get all the angst about a new Imac. I know I probably don't have any where near the demanding use of many, but I have an IMAC that's 4 years old, a 3.06 C2D and it is fast enough that I am never frustrated and I always have 5 to 6 Mac programs open with 3 windows and several tabs in Safari and 2 or 3 windows in Excel. As well, I sometimes am using a VM with 2 different tax programs open in XP. If I had a "old" I5 IMAC I wouldn't know what to do with that much speed, I might get lost lol. Of course I still have a 3GS that I waited for until it was free but it works great. I just want a tool that lets me get my work done without any delay. If you have to go and get a cup of coffee while you wait for a I7 IMAC to process something, I'd like to know what some of you guys do for a living.

Then an Apple spokes person apparently told David Pogue of the NYT that Apple was working on something new for the Mac Pro and iMac for 2013 .

This was then officially recanted by Apple and later Tim Cook emailed back a concerned pro user that Apple was working on something really great for the pro users to be released in 2013.

If you think about these statements one may conjecture that Apple at some point did commit to abandoning the current Apple desktop product line and redirecting all former desktop R&D resources to that something.

I've said it here before and I am finding it more plausible as the calendar goes on and we see NOTHING for the iMac OR the Mac Mini: There will be a 2013 release of the "Mac Core" (fictional name just to give us something to call it) and the Mac Core will be Apple's only desktop machine. Conjecture: It will be smaller than the Pro by far, small for even a mid-tower, but not Mini small. It won't be an all-in-one since the TB display pretty much corners that out. And it will have upgradeable industry standard GPU, RAM, and HDD/SSD bays for pro users.

THAT is the Something that Tim Cook was talking about in June. And now that I realize that, I wish I had just bought a damned iMac in June to tide me over, rather than moving to the 2012 MBP and being unhappy with it but knowing it's a better recoupable.

It would, at minimum, take year of the iMac net operations coming in at loss before they discontinued it.

Companies love bundling. Why give you the freedom of spending less on their parts by just swapping out an inexpensive mid-tower to your monitor every few years? That's not good business.

That why the mini stays gimped and the Mac Pro stays hyper expensive for minimally increasing benefit. They dont want to impose on iMac turf. I can tell you, Dell and HP WISH they could sell most of their desktop systems at $1500-2000+ dollars.

i feel your pain bro, i feel the same way so tired of this apple leaving this for last 500 + and apple doesnt seem to give a flying f, at least let the costumers know whats going on. The other sad thing is that none of the rumor sites also dont care which is sad they rather report on the same thing over and over again like when they reported that "apple will start pre orders on friday the 14th" isnt that what apple said on the event do we really need a new report its really sickening how annoying this is, every rumor site has a huge bonner over the iphone and they need to chill it with it, bring us news we about stuff we dont know like the imacs please the iphone 5 already came out so can we please move on now.

Lol, this website should be called IOS rumors...the iPhone 5 has the spotlight now, but soon, the iMac's time will come...soon enough.

Erm...I will continue to wait...Erm...I don't need a link...Erm...I'd rather be childish than stupid enough to shell out several grand on an iMac that is so yesterday with outdated technology! To call it awesome is an insult as the components in it lag seriously behind the tech available today, and yet Apple is still charging premium prices for it. It's a damn shame that the anomaly that is the PC contains far superior components and has managed to stay current, unlike the "awesome" iMac. I love Apple products and I just wish that Apple would dedicate more attention to the machine that prevented them from going under. The iMac is Apple's saving grace and deserves to be treated as such. I will bite the bullet and get a rMBP if October passes and there isn't so much as a peep from the new iMacs. I'd rather shell out several grand for current technology (rMBP > current 21.5" iMac) than get blatantly ripped off, paying an astronomical price for hardware that isn't even worth it. You do the math and calculate the cost-benefit ratio.
