Get it Viccies...it's really good. Returning to the temple and the yelling is really annoying though. I'm so sick of the stupid Ocean King Temple it's not even funny. I was thinking I might play this one over and over like I did the original Zelda on the NES...but this temple so far has a big no on that for me. But it'll be fun to beat it once.

The puzzles aren't too bad. Hard enough to where you don't just run straight through it, but not too hard you can't fit it into a nice portable gaming break (I game on the sky train in 20 minute bursts).

Argh! Tell me about it! I made my first trip back to the Temple today and was not impressed. Please tell me I don't have to go back a third time!

I do LOVE the game, though. There are some fantastic DS features with the blowing and the closing the clam thing.

I am finding it hard to remember everyone's name and where they live, though> maybe I should write on my map more.

Is there a thread for Zelda Battle Friend Codes?

just started my second row of hearts, and have two of the three elements - the games is very addictive, but I only get to play it when the GF isn't

Exactly! It's possinble to play the game in small 10 minute chunks, but it's so addictive you just think 'ok, one more dungeon, then bed'. But two hours later, you're still playing.

That stupid temple system. I've actually started playing through Portrait of Ruin again just because I can't bring myself to go through that temple again to get the last map piece. The gameplay actually drove me away from the game.

This was my default time waster while sitting for my sleeve work. Could play one handed with my right arm while my left arm was getting tattood, but don't know if I want to work through that dungeon again today...maybe I'll take Zack and Wiki and my wii up there instead :) It's one handed paradise!

The temple has several shortcuts and it only takes about 5 minutes to get through it. There's also two portals you can open up. You guys are just lazy and have the attention span of a pea. :D :p

I'm almost done with Zak & Wiki that I know of, it's a good game, but I must rant about it. I also started playing Monkey Island again on my DS, which I haven't played for eons and it's a much better game. I hope for more Z&W games, but its puzzle adventure approach really missed the whole point of why Graphic Adventures from Lucas Art's early days were truly great games. I really don't care for the characters and I wouldn't even call its story a story. It has me bouncing from one level/puzzel to the next and wether I play that level today or tomorrow is really of no care. Anyway, regardless, the game is clever and I really hope they bring out more and this trend doesn't stop any time soon. The Paint level is awesome! Its engine needs a bit more refinement on moving IMO, but It would really work well for a Monkey Island 2.5. :) The game's art direction as a whole is something I eat up -- I love painterly backgrounds.

I hate that darn temple only because I can't get anywhere in a short time, and thus when I want to play on a quick spree I'm all "ugh, I'll play a different game right now since I don't want to go through that darn temple".

I did beat the temple with a time of around four minutes on the last run through, but I got tons of +30 seconds and spent a lot of time in the safe zones so it was probably more like 20 minutes to make it through :p

I actually have a saved time of 50 seconds to the checkpoint/portal!

I think the game designers spent a lot of time watching Pirates of the Caribbean...

STILL trying to beat the top score on that bow & arrow sidegame. The prize better be good!

Okay, I know I could look on a walkthrough but I don't want to. I figure asking others for help isn't as bad. ;)

For the life of me I can't find the Golden Hull, Bridge, Anchor or Cannon. Are there any specific ways of getting these or is it just chance?

I've got the Sword, and I'm ready to go back in to the Ocean Temple, but for the last month or so I've just been sailing around checking shops and killing the other ships trying for these stupid Golden parts.

I'm also missing one stupid Power Gem and then a couple Wisdom and Courage Gems. I don't think I'm going to bother with the Wisdom and Courage, but I want the last Power Gem.

The masked beetle boat occasionally sales golden parts. I forget which times he shows up during the day, but it's like noon or something. I've only seen one part and that was early in the game, so I didn't have any money. Anyway, I didn't bother with the golden boat.

I forget which gem is shield and which gem was shooting, but anyways, I got them all. I had to download a walkthrough and then backtrack to figure out where i missed them, so good luck. :D

The gem that shoots at level 2 was great, since it shot a huge arc. The shield was quite useful for the very last battle when I was getting his pattern down. But they were all pretty much useless compared to the hammer for the rest of the game.

I loaned my game to a friend, so I don't have it for reference.

EvilGeek, I earned 20 loyalty points with that travelling salesman of the seas. I then bought the golden hull with the freebie card he gave me for earning said points.

Lucky!

I used my freebie on a bigger bomb bag. :(

The only two golden parts that I've purchased from Beedle has been the chimney and handrail. I have plenty of rupees so I just need to find the parts for sale and I'll have them!

Does anyone know if you can exchange parts/treasure with people on the same DS? I know you can exchange with "friends", but can you between two people with saved games on the same DS?

what guy above me said

i just wana say 2 things .....

1 you can get free golden parts on wifi battle then collect then on cannon island in cheasts

2 you CAN trade ship parts with other people

I know you can trade with other people using wi-fi, but can you trade with other people using the same DS?

Thanks!

I'm still in my hunt for all the golden ship parts (only need two more!), so I have yet to finish the game.

So until I do find all the parts I have been going around and playing every game and trying to beat all the high scores.

I'm curious as to what everyone else's high score is on the bow and arrow game. I just barely squeezed out 2000 exactly, but I haven't been able to go above that.

So what are your best scores?

I am always just shy of winning the bow and arrow game, which is frustrating, but I know it can be done.

The cannon game, however is IMPOSSIBLE!!

I beg to differ. :p

I beat the canon game many times getting ship parts, I recall my high score is 2900 -- my friend is still borrowing my cart. Just remember where the targets are and figure out how many times you can shoot each one before you'll need to focus on the next. There's a target on the inside turn which is good for a ton of hits.

I beat the canon game before I beat the bow game, which I think was just the 2000. The easiest game to beat was the rolling game.

Same here. I really wish they had added more RPG elements to the ship, instead of just how you customized it. That ship guy should have offered upgrade services besides just fixing the crane.

Oh no, I think getting my new Macbook has completely made me neglect my DS. I think I am now at that pint where you come back into the game and completely forget what you're supposed to do.

I was eyeing up DS games in HMV the the day, but told myself 'not until you've completed Zelda!' It's like finishing my greens.

I'm the same way as the above poster. Took a while off and now can't remember squat. Looked at an online guide to see where I am and I'm at the very end. Oh well. One day will go back and beat it. For now Portrait of Ruin has drawn me back in for another replay.

Paul

You're also slow. :p

I'm on my 4th RWii4 replay. I got the Tommy gun and decided just to restart on pro with none of my previously earned weapons, since they really take all of the fun out of the game.

Have you played Contra DS?
