After searching forever for a bag that could carry my 11" MBA + an iPad without being huge, bulky, and/or ugly, I've found and purchased this from Etsy:

It looks great, and the dimensions are perfectly suited to what I need. I'm excited to get it!

There is one big flaw in most of the popular cases in this thread, I see a lot of buttons and zips, I wouldn't risk scratching my Air when getting it in and out of the case. I used to use neoprene sleeves, they had a zip that left a mark every now and that even when I was extremely careful. I never had a case with buttons, but if it's in a bag with other stuff I can imagine the buttons pressed into the case could leave their mark on the Air.

I have a Crumpler bag with a separate padded part for my Air (I have a nylon friday and a bigger shoulder bag which I don't know the name of). And I use a Joli Originals sleeve for my 11".

:)

Picked up the Acme Made 11" Skinny Sleeve for MacBook Air today at my local Apple Store. Looks like this color is new because it's not even listed on the online store. Perfect for me since it matches my backpack for traveling (my 2 fav colors too :D)

Here are a few pics, enjoy

Damn that colour combination looks good! Grey and orange. Sadly when i bought mine they only had the black one...

Work/Play Combo

Macbook Air 13" with Moshi Palmrest and Touchpad Guard.

I have a need to carry around a hulking windows laptop for work, but like to use my MBA when I don't need to access our network and while I'm going on-site to clients. I bought a knomo envelope for the MBA that I can put in my work kit to keep it safe while it shares space w/ the work laptop, files, etc and still look professional for clients.

For when I don't want to lug my work kit with me, I have my minimal kit for my MBA, accessories, and necessary other items, the STM Scout, which my MBA's knomo envelope conveniently fits into for extra protection.

Best of both worlds: protection in a larger bag when needed, w/ some "style," as well as protection in a smaller kit when that's all that's necessary for utility. Very happy w/ both products.

Level 8 sleeve/case- bought from Apple store. Love it- can take it alone and use as a standalone case or can stick it in my larger briefcase and use it as a sleeve.

I picked up the Acme Made Skinny Sleeve at the suggestion of a previous post in this thread. What a great sleeve! Offers solid protection because the inside is lined with microfiber cloth and what feels like 2 plastic plates on the inner walls (between the foamy outside and cloth on the inside) on each side to provide more durability.

I am considering dumping it for this though.

Just throw the sleeve right in the bag! :)

Having tried more bags and sleeves that I would like to admit, I have become a big fan of Waterfield Designs-- SFbags (sfbags.com). The bags, sleeves, cases etc are top quality, thoughtfully designed, and specific to an Apple product. The service is outstanding. The prices are reasonable. A big plus is that they are all made in San Francisco. If you have not looked here -- you should.

No, I do not work for them, nor am I related to them either. They just have a great set of products and equally great service.

Visconti Bags

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned already (searched the thread but nothing came up). Visconti do a bag that will fit an 11" air and an ipad. I don't have one yet but it's one I am looking at:

nice stuff in here

For the 13A I've been using a 13MBP incase sleeve as I can use the left over thickness for papers/headphones/whatever.

But that Level 8 with handles is calling to me lol

For an actual bag I'm using a Tumi 26521 expandable messenger bag

A Sleeve in a messenger bag

For a late 2008 13" MBA. I bought the sleeve back then and used it for the last 4 years slipping the laptop in and out 3 times a day and it still protects it nicely. Some non essential sewing gave way but it is still nice and snug.

The messenger bag is new but feels nice. The laptop with sleeve fits snugly in it with adapter, an iPad and a mid-size moleskine notebook.

This one is probably already posted a couple of times in this thread, but I love my Joli Originals, have it for both my iPad2 and MacBook Air. It looks like I will be switching to a new MacBook Pro as soon as it's released, I need a littlebit more power if I want something to replace my 15" MBP and 11" MBA. I hope they are going to make sleeves for that too as they only make them for the MacBook Air at the moment. :(

It's handmade with leather and woolfelt, I have had mine for a really long time now and the fit is still perfect and the leather also still looks great. :) http://shop.jolioriginals.com
