I really hope it never goes away... it is the only (that I regularly read) and best mac site, with or without rumours ... joined in Oct 2001...you should even have started in 1997 when Jobs came back and rebooted the company :-D

Excellent episode, I remember the days when people used to think the elusive ”arn” was Steve Jobs

Over the course of 20+ years, MacRumors has been a daily driver for me. No embellishment: there have only been a handful of days I haven't at least loaded the homepage. But most days, I pop in at least a few times. Typically start and end my day with MacRumors. When I stop and do that math, the amount time I have spent here is pretty staggering. Averaging 1.5 hours/day, over 20 years, yields 10,950 hours. That's boggling. More boggling - there are members here who easily quadruple that stat. If not more! 🤯

Anyway, good to see @arn get some screen time! Grateful for the platform he (and team) have created and nurtured all these years. Here's to 20 more!

I'm glad to know that these forums are "charming and focused."

It's true that some forum members will defend Apple no matter what. It's also true that for every move Apple makes, some forum members will find fault with it. Those on the extremes may never agree, but what makes forum discussions worth reading, and joining, are the other voices, from people looking for practical answers, trying to distinguish fact from fiction, and sharing their honest opinions.

It's also wonderful when forum members generously provide answers to technical questions. The tech world marches on, and nobody can know everything, so we depend on each other to keep up and solve day-to-day problems.
Late to the party here, I see. I enjoyed the episode and I appreciate your post, @Doctor Q, because you bring up this aspect about why the forums are important.
