On my iPhone XR, I tap the “New posts” link and a list of new posts appears. There used to be a “Mark forums read” button just above the new posts list that allowed the user to mark the forums as read. This button seems to have disappeared on both my iPad Air 3 and iPhone XR. Is there a new method for marking the forums read?

There’s a mark forums read link in the nav bar if you scroll

@arn Would it be possible to make the “Mark Forums Read” link a conditional link? Once the “New posts” link is pressed, the “Mark forums read” link could move to the first position in the nav bar (far left) and the other links could move one space to the right. This would put the “Mark forums read” link in a position so that it’s difficult to miss. The links could go back to their original position after the forums are marked read. You could even shorten it to “Mark read” to save space. Just an idea.

So do you use it primarily when looking at New Posts?

Yes, I usually tap the “New posts” link, then read through them and then tap the “Mark forums read” link to save time instead of marking each thread read.

It was just an idea. It could very well be that I use those links differently than most people and my idea won’t work for others. I was just trying to find a way to help make the forums easier to use for everyone. I would have caught the “Mark forums read” link had I scrolled through the nav bar, but I didn’t think about having to do that. My bad.

we can place it somewhere more prominent on the new posts page
