Really solid, enjoyable show. As others have said, Crudup is fantastic. My only, small quibble, with the show is the opening credits. I find them immensely mundane to the point of irritating and they feel LONG.

We usually skip the intro. Last night we didn't. I had the same comments: "WOW this is long... that whole thing was the intro?!"

My husband and I had the same reaction the one time we sat through the intro.

I enjoy all the actors and characters on this show so far. I’m really impressed with how each and every one of them thoroughly works the part they’re given. Chip is my personal favorite character, but I agree with all the praise Billy Crudup is getting for his work here.

I’m also kind of knocked out by Martin Short playing such a creepy character so well. He is reputed to be a sweet man who has been devoted to his late wife, so it’s quite a treat to see him dig deep and play a sleazy predator, as if he wakes up like that every morning. I’m happy to see he’s had this opportunity.

Just goes to show how subjective reviewing or liking/disliking a show/movie is as Aniston is by far the weak link in the show, she can't act, at all. Reece is stellar and with Crudup and Duplass, this show has become one of my favs.
Aniston is amazing! I agree that Witherspoon is the weak link here.

Great actor. Well deserved.

the weak link in the show is actually Reese Witherspoon. part of it is limitations in her skill—she basically plays the same archetype in 95% of her roles—and part is her role isn’t well defined.it and shifted as the season progressed. I like her as an actress, but she seems miscast in this.
For me, the big problem is that her character is the least complex, with no flaw other than “my moral compass is so strong that I can’t keep myself from doing what’s right”. For a drama show, that’s a boring character, because she doesn’t make mistakes.

Nott going to spoil anything, but the S1 finale has a shocking negative development for one character. The way it is set up, the writers easily could have made that the result of Witherspoon’s character’s insistence on exposing the truth, but instead they showed a short scene which completely exculpated her. And that’s a shame, because it would have been much more interesting to see her struggle with the unintended bad side-effects of a good fight rather than having her remain the hero who can do no wrong.

Similarly, Carell’s character suffered over the course of the season. In the early scenes with Martin Short, you really got the impression that he honestly didn’t realize that he was guilty of any wrongdoing. However, by the end of the season he seemed more like someone who knows he is a bad person but still tries to talk his way out of it. That’s a pity, because a creep who believes that he is a good guy is more interesting than a manipulative jerk.

Really enjoyed the whole show, except the last 10 minutes of the final episode (no spoilers, but really anti-climactic IMO).

Thought the opening titles were great actually :D Crudup's character was the obvious standout from the very first episode onwards, but Dupass was great too, and developed really well. Carell also did a great job, and very believable in that role.

I thought Reece Witherspoon was ok..... I just don't think her character was that interesting compared to the others, but her performance was good.

Unfortunately, Jennifer Aniston's performance was pretty bad. The character should have been the most interesting of all - but I think the performance was so wooden that you just couldn't get there with her. I suppose it makes sense..... despite being the headliner, she was in such strong company that perhaps Rachel-from-friends was always going to be overshadowed by her "supporting" colleagues.

I have to say - well done apple for delivering a great series straight off-the-bat. Heavyweight too - some really powerful content in TMS - the Vegas episode and the birthday party were particularly difficult to watch (in a good way). Maybe this should act as a lesson to everyone who gleefully piled-on the "speculative criticism" when the concept/trailers were released?

i think the show has a lot of potential. Dial-back the tacky and excessive Apple product placements. Pick a lane for Reese’s character. And bring a POV around these tough workplace and societal issues with the grace and cleverness of the west wing. It will be a show for the ages. (E.g. the ranting on the screen in the last episode was lazy and cringeworthy. The slow pan away from Steve Carrel’s character was brilliant.)

Really? I found Jennifer Aniston to be the weak link throughout its first season, except for the final 5 minutes of the season when... yeah.

Crudup's character took it for me though, he was excellent. And Steve Carell, his character is also well done and acted... and I think his character just doesn't realize what really happened.

I don't see an issue with the Apple product placement. But I do have a problem that everyone has the same ringer... even though it is the best one.

Oh... and as someone else stated too. The opening credits suck. They're 2 minutes long, the song is obnoxiously loud. And it's bouncing circles. Give me a break and thank god for "skip intro"...

Totally underrated actor, has been for 20 years. I've been watching him since "Inventing the Abbotts".. a coming of age romance drama, but nonetheless he nailed the part. "Trust the Man" with Duchovny was also a winner, hilarious...

And, if you haven't seen "Without Limits", great story of Steve Prefontaine. If you're a runner at all, you must see this. Billy was perfect in this role, and no one noticed.

I didn't think I'd find anything on TV+ to like, but "The Morning Show" is one of the best shows on ANY streaming service. And Crudup's character is hard to figure out.

I’m not sure on Apple TV but there is a button to skip the into. They are all too long.
