with WunderRadio you can get just about any radio station in the world...anyway, wouldn't the FM receiver interfere with the internal radios and antenna's of the phone?
Heck, I'd WAY prefer a flash/light for the camera/video...:D

It's not there for a reason. Apple has never included an FM tuner on an iPod or iPhone and never will. It would have to be a concession on their part that they were wrong, and they don't like doing that. Though I don't think they're wrong, there's a small market for a radio on an iPhone and makes little to no sense from Apple's standpoint.

Hi,
My name is Chris. I'm from 2009. Here nobody listens to radio.

Then move out of the ghettos and pay your electric bill.

Is it even possible for the iPhone to run an FM tuner? Do developers have the resources to make this possible without using any extra hardware?

You know, I was clamoring for an FM Tuner as well, but not anymore. My old Sony Ericsson K800i has an FM Tuner, but jeez is it noisy! The antenna is built into the earphone cable, but reception is terrible. I regularly listen to the local NPR Public Radio station and I've found a solution with the freely-available app called "Public Radio" and there's no noise!

If NPR is not your cup of tea, try AOL Radio or some other internet radio app.

That's hilarious. Everyone knows that the biggest omission is that it doesn't play 8-tracks.

FM radio. Priceless.

On a side note, the shielding required to allow the FM radio to work even when background cell communications (particularly Edge) are happening would cost significantly more than $2, add weight and complexity, and all just to make the three people who think Ryan Seacrest is the height of entertainment a little happier.

I'd be happy if it could at least use the radio remote Apple makes for the iPod. Radio ain't quite dead just yet, I'd like to be able to listen to the TV's at the gym, which broadcast audio using a low power FM signal...

The most inexcusable omission in this thread is the OP's second "s" in omission. But at least we got a second "m" to make up for it.

Sadly I have to carry around at least one of those at work. I work at a hospital.

You can actually get your pages forwarded to your iPhone so you don't need to carry around a beeper. If you talk to the tech at your hospital I'm sure they would know how to set it up.

:D Hahahahaha

Seriously use wunder radio (which I just deleted but it worked great) or Picket Tunes (better than the actual sirius app because it gets the Stern channels). These apps get plenty of radio stations and I'm sure there is other apps out there that do the same thing.

I usually don't like all the bashing that goes on in forums... unless there is humor in it. Well done.

muhahahahahaha!

I hope we get a printer/scanner/faxer in the next refresh. Maybe an ethernet connection. OR EVEN BETTER, a kingston lock slot!!! Who knows!
