To prove your point even more, I think you should all post a youtube video showing the problem doesn't occur on your individual phone. A simple 15 second video of you placing your palm over the problem area, and showing the full strength bars.

Or maybe some of us don't cup the phone like that so we never experience the issue? I don't get how some people use the "death grip" as it's been described when talking on the phone. It's extremely awkward.

i am very happy with mine. i cant replicate the signal issue no yellow on screen or green on photos. the only issue i have is when using the flash with my case on but that is the case issue not the phone. it is miles better than my 3G anyway

Mine works perfectly too. I don't know what everyone is crying about.

My only beef is the incompatibility with the Magellan Car Kit. But that's Magellan's problem.

I do have issues with signal in areas where AT&T's signal is weak (and if I purposely hold it the "wrong" way). But in areas where the signal from AT&T is particularly strong, there is no wrong way to hold it.

My complaint at the moment is with the Bumper. The way they cut the opening prevents most 3rd party 30 pin connectors from being plugged in. It's why I've stopped using my Bumper for a while.

I picked mine up today (finally came in) and I LOVE IT! No yellow spots, no green spots in pictures, no signal drop, and no sensor issues. Of course, I brought it home, put an anti glare screen protector and an iFrogz case on it. So far so good:)

I'd say that is fine for when you are reading stuff off the iphone or browsing the internet. In which case it's easy enough to find a different way to hold it.

But holding it to my head, I actually do like to hold it by the fingertips (which makes it much easier to avoid the spot). And no, I don't have a slippery grasp on it that way. I've never dropped my phone while talking on it.

Having your hand holding your phone like that while you are talking bends your wrist back (Or has you tucking in your elbow very tightly) and yes, that gets uncomfortable and is not good on your wrist.

Absolutely. I used it naturally in my left hand at the Apple Store (I'm a righty) and it was fine, all 4 phones I tried. The death grip didn't do anything on any of them. With that position, it would be impossible to use the screen...your thumb is firmly on the side instead of doing stuff on the screen. And personally, I think people who hold it like that with one hand and poke the screen with the other look like total morons (sorry to anyone who does that). And when I'm talking, I 1), Use my right hand, and 2), Generally have my index finger on or under the Apple logo, my thumb on the right side, middle and ring fingers on the left, and pinky on the bottom.

The only time I can see myself holding it that way is when I'm running while holding my phone (not like exercising, i mean, like a quick sprint to get somewhere quickly).

I can't wait for my iPhone 4 :D!!

I've had no problems with my iP4 but I did have to exchange the one I got on launch day because it kept freezing on me...the replacement has been nothing short of flawless since I received it last Monday...truly the best of my three iPhones (2G, 3GS, 4)...:)

Coming from an iPhone 3G the iPhone 4 has been fantastic. I have not experienced an dropped calls and I even get better reception in some areas than I had before.

Like my iPhone 3G and every other cell phone I had before, I do have a case on my iPhone 4. The 4 or 5 days I had the phone with no case though I did not notice any of the reception problems that a few (when compared to the millions of iPhones sold) have experienced.

Finally ... a happy thread ... nice to see ...

Steve should refer to it ... :p

I don't want to be shrugged off as a forum newbie, but has it not been scientifically proven that all iPhone 4s suffer from the signal issue (see link below)? It doesn't matter if you drop calls or not, fact is the iPhone 4 drops far more signal than any other mobile when held naturally; by up to a factor of 10 (see below link).

A good review for those who haven't read it (Click Me).
The link has also been posted elsewhere on these forums.

I live in an extremely high signal area, I can still get the phone to drop 2 bars when holding naturally (no case), and I can get down to 1 bar EDGE if I death grip it. In that sense, my iPhone works great simply due to the way I naturally hold a phone I very rarely experience signal loss. However, I'm not denying its existence.

No-one has claimed that every person will lose signal. The claims are that every iPhone 4 will lose signal when held in the palm of your left hand (without a case/bumper/cleaning your hand just before).

Just my $0.02; feel free to correct any of my post - without flaming :)

That was actually Apple's thought process when they designed the antenna that way.

Who says? Using an irribit case solves the antenna problem.
Pretty short thread.
Denial is not just a river.
