Can’t agree with any of the bits I could read.

The bezels are a teeny bit bigger on the sides, “way” thicker is hyperbole. Overall they are a lot smaller as they have squeezed in a bigger screen in the same footprint. It looks far more aesthetically pleasing with uniform bezels. How you can say it looks slicker with those chins is beyond me!

Right.... so return it

None of this is news really? The bezel thing is obvious in every picture. FaceID vs TouchID isn’t a surprise, this is known from the X vs 8. The pencil isn’t a surprise as they announced how it charges and attaches in the event. Speed isn’t a surprise either. So all in all, I don’t actually understand why you bought one?

Can’t blame Apple for your poor choices or bad research.

Stop trying to justify your decision to return it and just get it over with. You don’t need us to validate your decision.

Personally I think it looks far better in every way.
- the screen seems brighter
- the uniform bezels and larger screen in the same sized body are exactly what I wanted
- the USB-C port is a great bonus
- the keyboard folio is much better with its two positions
- the squared sides look refreshing and new
- the faster processor means it will stay fast longer with future software updates
- the new Apple Pencil and its charging method are also better in every way

Overall couldn’t be happier with it

Thanks for confirming my purchase bro. This is great insight that I needed to hear. Especially the folio talk. A lot of people chose the 12.9 so this is great as someone who went 11

If it's not a gift, get your money back! Save that cash for a better product.

I'm waiting for a high quality 4k tablet to come out before I buy another tablet(i only use my tablets for browsing and movies). Hopefully, either Samsung or Sony comes through next year.

No, No! I'll allow it! This made me LOL. Seriously, it's so hard to read run on paragraphs that most people, including me, want to just give up after the first 12 words.

In defense of OP (his grammar is questionable but please have in mind English is not everyone’s first language) - yes, I believe that this new iPad has unnecessary compromises. It didn’t need to be thinner, yet it is - with hardware downgrades as a result. It could have better battery live, but it hasn’t. It didn’t need thinner bezels, yet... well you get the point.

I think the 10.5 is still a solid purchase.

um, i went to the apple store and saw both the 10.5 and the 11. The 11 was not only more appealing, it was lighter and much easier to hold. It was shocking.

In fact, the 10.5 ipad pro weights the same as the 12.9 new ipad pro (well thats how i felt it, not actually checked the values).

so don't hate me for this but its my honest review spending the night with both, firstly faceID isn't easy like Touch ID was to unlock on a table its good on a phone, the bezels are way thicker on the sides compared to the 10.5 just so it all looks neat but they made out its bezels but there bigger, also all this speed and nothing needs it 10.5 works fine for iOS apps, also Apple Pencil worked fine before so what u plug it in to charge it toke 15 seconds to gets out so you tubers saying its much better nope, camera is worse couldn't use xs camera its same thickness as iPhone XS so they could off, no OIS so videos are shaky everything seems a downgrade just we get Animoji the bezels had to be quicker, the smart over covers the back but I don't want that the 10.5 was slicker and thinner with smart case, the display looks same no improvements so what actually is better camera got downgraded screen looks cool ut I loved the thin sides one on 10.5 and that ANNOYING home bar is in the way, the old iPad with iOS 12 had same gestures but without the homebar, it all doesn't seem right, what do you think... also cos it doesn't have raise to wake its now 2 steps press screen then swipe up before it was just clock Touch ID and it woke
[doublepost=1541635028][/doublepost]also all this amazing power and its still iOS just a big iPhone nothing will use that power

This is the second post I’ve seen about how much you hate the new iPad. Just return it and keep the 10.5. That’s clearly what you want.

It really is nicer to hold and feels much lighter, even though I know it's only slightly lighter. I think it's the squared off edges.

Really don't trust OP opinion, since everything is written all jumbled together. If you have a statement to make, at least write with correct punctuation and grammer or at least attempt too. So, will move on now. :)

Dang man, I went with the 11in because I thought the 12.9 may be to big to carry around.
My keyboard, pencil and iPad will arrive in a few weeks and you make me worried I might not like it.

I have the 10.5 now and love it, but the performance and looks of the new iPads made me crazy to purchase it.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. This is some blantly obvious concerns, but I am sure the money Apple has spent in market research supports the general consensus that this iPad is a leap forward. In terms of power these tablets are made to be future proof to some degree. While Apple will eventually phase this iPad model out, I am sure they included this horse power for a particular reason. Only time will tell what Apple will do with iOS and the iPad...

I throughly enjoy the 11 inch as opposed to the 10 inch. It feels tremendously lighter and better balanced. Unfortunately the Smart Keyboard cover is another story. I find it clunky and difficult to use other than a keyboard.

Let's not spread mis-information here... From Apple's own website:

12.9" (2018 model)
Weight (Wi-Fi) 631 grams (1.39 pounds)

11" (2018 Model)
Weight (Wi-Fi) 468 grams (1.03 pounds)

10.5" (2017 Model)
Weight (Wi-Fi) 469 grams (1.03 pounds)

So the 11" and 10.5" are the same weight. To me, having both, the older model actually feels sleeker and lighter, but that's just me. They're exactly the same weight (well 1 gm difference... ;) )
