Officially official... even though there was still a week to go according to the official site. :p

I wonder if it'll be priced to snuff out any lingering interest in an Aston? :p :p :p

Could this be a hoax site? I just can't believe they'd call the car the 'California' - it should be the Dino!

EDIT: Ferrarigtcountdown.com links to the California page... [/surprise]

Seriously Ferrari's seem to be getting uglier and uglier. The last good looking one was the 360 Modena. There were a few before it that looked ***** too, the F50 anyone? Now they all seem to be a pile of poo. The 540 is horrible (and boring) the 612 Scaglietti is a total monstrosity and this new one looks even worse.

The back in interesting, kind of looks like a pontiac to me for some reason.
I do like it, hate the name though.

The name is ridiculous. Why the hell would the pride of Italy call this thing the California??

The largest market of punters with large wads of cash to blow on this thing live there. Being as it's meant to cost at least as much as a F430 it's not going to be cheap. Coupled with the fact that the handling is unlikely to be as sharp and focused as a F430 and it's really not all that pretty you are looking at selling it on badge alone. Hence California :p

It really really looks like a Maserati project with a prancing horse badge on it - which is exactly what it is.

I'd much rather have a DB9 or DBS

It's a pretty nice looking car, but it would have to be a whole lot less expensive than your average Ferrari for me to look twice at it.

Would have liked to see a lot more of the old Ferarri 250 GT California Spyder in this thing, the side vents and the rear fender isn't enough.

Would have been real nice to see a retro body on a new Ferarri even.

But alas, just looks like another corporate redo of this tired Ferarri theme with an old name slapped on it.

I agree.
And I know it is heresy… but I prefer the Maserati. :D

The name is ridiculous.

The name is one of the greatest in the history of motoring. ;)

The name stems from the request by Luigi Chinetti of Ferrari North America for an open top version of the Ferrari 250 GT Tour de France (a berlinetta) back in 1957/60. Pinin Farina responded with the 250 GT California (a spider) specifically for the U.S. market.

I don't like the appearance of any Lambo or Ferrari. I don't know why.

This one is better though. I don't like the back, but everything else is OK.

I love the look of the Lambo Murcielago but the back end needs a bit of work. It kind of looks like they gave up towards the end. :D The Ferrari California looks like they couldnt be arsed from the start. :D

"Lets give it some stupid bulges so it looks like its got a fat arse"

"Ok but what about the rear lights?"

"Oh crap... er... lets stuff em in these holes here"

That is a really nice looking vehicle. Though.. (assuming I could afford anything in this price range), I am still not sure it can snuff my interest in a nice Db9.

I do think Ferrari is either producing cars that look more dull or uglier with each release. Still not bad to look at but not great compared to their better looking cars

It's just occured to me - it's an Alfa 8c Competitzione with a horse badge.

Makes sense too - both are Fiat-owned companies...
