Yep, really. :)

The guy who owned it was under the impression it was a California when I asked him about it.

Well... it is a 250 GT I suppose, just not a California, PF's aren't exactly lacking in desirability either.

The obvious differences between the two cars are the headlights, the California's are recessed and set behind perspex covers.

The intake on the bonnet is much more pronounced on the California than on the PF not to mention the character line on the PF that runs just below the shoulder line, a feature that doesn't exist on the California.

And of course the most noticeable difference between the two is the absence of the gill vent behind the front wheels on the PF.

Maybe he didn't know...

Maybe he was trying to sell it to you. ;)

A PF and a California.

like all machines... they wear out... you throw them away.

If anyone "throws away" a freaking Ferrari because it "wore out", they ought to be slapped and barred from owning anything above $50k.

Seriously, you 1) don't let a Ferrari "wear out", and 2) if it does, you restore it, not throw it away!

Aston Martin's are the most beautiful cars on the face of this planet, two decade old design or not.

Aston are falling into a similar trap (aesthetically) that they were in between the 1960-80's. Like the era's before... todays Aston Martin needs a contemporary Zagato to move the company forward. Their current aesthetic is too familiar... to the point that the original beauty of the design language has been watered down to the point of being outmoded in comparison to their contemporaries.

It's a British thing... Jaguar have suffered from a similar approach.

You'll love 3rd Baron Brocket then. ;)

I don't like the car. Especially the back end. It looks too much like a small 612/599 hybrid (both of which have aspects I dislike).

However, I was almost drooling over it with the top up! Strange.

That just means the prices on older models go down and I can buy a "cheap" 360. :p

I cant see why its recieving so much negative attention. I really really like the look of this car, i think maybe it could have taken a little more from the original, but all in all its actually a very nice contemporary take on the California.

Theres actually something really special about this design. I like how it isnt the typical sportscar (ie 430) look, but more of an open top roadster.. theres alot of style in this car that obviously isnt being seen by many.
