Not looking for a fix, looking to make sure whatever evil bit of code that was in 11.3 that caused the hardware failure in the first place, has now been removed thus this allowing us holdouts to upgrade bypassing 11.3 entirely...
There's that aspect of it too. It's possible they haven't figured it all out just yet.

Yep. Lets push out the final one with everything fixed so when can kick out the next not even beta ready OS in 3 weeks and force everyone to upgrade anyway from day one.

FYI,

iCloud for iMessage wasn't turned on by default, had to go into settings to turn it on.

Good. Was hoping it would default to that. I realize it can pull from the cloud. But sometimes you can be somewhere with a poor signal and I need it on my phone in that case.

I’ve been in important meetings and needed to show an email message that wouldn’t come up because of a poor signal.

I don’t need that connectivity problem with my text messages too.

Did they fix the emoji revolver, it still looks like a water pistol.

Oh that's right, I forget it's for my safety.

Waiting for the taser emoji. If they can set it to actually shock the recipient, then that’ll be perfect.

Bring back the metal trim on phones. Wire an electrode to it that responds to emojis. Then we have a feature that’s useful.

Hopefully this fixes the problem where I plug my phone into my car via CarPlay, start music, and as soon as I get out of WiFi range, the music dies and I have to unplug/plug in my phone again!

I realize I'm quoting myself but ... Looks like this got fixed! Sure takes a good 20+ seconds before CarPlay realizes there is no more wifi - interface completely frozen, but it actually does switch over to LTE. Woot!

updating now

since I will be most probably opting out of further updates for my A8 and A9 devices after this one

That's a good point. The very last update usually slows the latest devices to be abandoned (from future updating) to about half the previous speed. And then of course going back to the previous speedy version is not allowed. And we pay for this lol.

- Fixes an issue where CarPlay audio could become distorted

Thank goodness! I have a 30min commute and spend 95% of the time using carplay. I would have audiobooks, music, and phone calls getting distorted. Hopefully it is really fixed!

I kept wondering when this was going to get fixed myself, I jumped on this 11.4 update. I even use CarPlay 100% of the time over wireless bluetooth because it's safer.

Bummer that the calculator launching delay is still present:
1. Close calculator if open
2. Lock iPhone
3. Reach Control Center
4. Launch calculator (it must be added previously, not sure if come enabled by default)
5. Waaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiitttt

In iOS11.3.1, it opens in an instant. There is no delay.

Hmm, I wonder if this will fix the random half second cutouts I've been getting with CarPlay on my 2018 Subaru Crosstrek.
I have that exact same issue on my 2013 Subaru Outback. Doesn’t happen all the time but when it does it’s painful to listen to music. I’ve found turning off Bluetooth on the phone and turning it back on temporarily fixes it. Hopefully this update permenately fixes it.

Where's the other bug that's supposed to be fixed??

So I'm not the only one with this issue.

And not a peep on what the iPhone 7 and 7plus microphone hardware issue that just happened to happen to phones after they received iOS 11.3, and if it's been fixed with 11.4...

Go to the Genius Bar they will replace the entire phone at no cost even if out of warranty. I had friends do it.

I updated to 11.4 and enabled iMessage in iCloud all this conected to WIFI and stayed conected for about 4 hours before leaving home, after 40 minutes under LTE I received and SMS from my provider saying that I finished the monthly data in my plan. I remember I checked in the morning and had 2.6 GB left for this month.

Rip. New features are always going to have issues and this is why I don't use them

Didn't fix the double delete annoyance, swipe > press delete > then press delete > again !!!

Cook and co are ruining Apple by the day

OMG Yes! I was getting tired of randomly having the problem crop up and then having to disconnect the iPhone and reconnect it just to get it go away (until the problem returned again). Didn't happen every day - just randomly.

Where do I enable this keyboard without the annoying period key next to the space bar...I hate that thing and hit it accidentally all the time...

(apparently this only shows up when using the search bar in Safari...still annoying)
