Wow, that is a huge thumbs up for the new iPad! Apple got it right, despite the mania, the hype, the unrealistic expectations and crazy desires, ultimately almost all of us agree the new iPad is truly a worthy purchase.

Just compare the 3rd gen iPad to the original that shipped less than 2yrs ago. Quadruple the hardware capability, many more features and mind blowing software with over 1/2million apps all for $499. Nothing out there comes close. The best just got significantly better.

It delivered just what I expected, a retina display and better graphics. However I'm just a bit dissapointed to hear that the CPU wasn't beefed up as I'm hoping to keep the device for 2-3 years. So I'm a bit gutted to read hands-on that said that old apps are not opening noticeably faster than before. However let's wait and see how more weighty apps will open on the device.

But overall. Apple delivered exactly what I wanted, improvements and once again the Retina Display which itself is unprecedented. Can't wait to look at it.

Apple did good with a major update with the iPad 2 over the iPad 1. Now they are just ironing things out. I think they did a great job on the New iPad. I said I would never get one and I ordered a 16GB wifi to play around with. If I find I use it a lot and run out of space I will sell it before the iPad 4 comes out. I think it would be great if they could push 15-20 hours battery life and 128GB option. To me that will be what they will do on the next iPad. I don't see a reason to change the case.
