Why would you bother with store pickup if it gets delivered to your door on release date?

When i was ordering..it said delivers no later than 5 days after release. So i don't know if this is different than prior launches

They haven't announced whether it'll be released at 9am or 5pm right?

My UPS/FedEx guys always come to my house in the evening at the end of their route. I would much rather go pick it up at the store in the afternoon if that was possible.

gave up trying to load the website or the apple store app, just wasn't worth it, called them instead. It took 8 calls, but I got through eventually after being politely disconnected like a previous poster said. Not sure if you could qualify this as a step in the right direction though, I've been on hold for 13 minutes and 25 seconds as of now. Getting a black 64gb Wifi one if I ever get to talk to an actual person.

Well, I made it through using the iPhone app. Ordered Wi-fi 64 GB model. Delivers on March 16. E-mail confirm received.

I got through on the iPhone app and it said they would send me a confirmation email. Everything went through. I haven't received the email yet, though. Does it usually come right away or do I have to wait?

Again I'll re-iterate. Apple has more cash than any company on the planet. They have a huge honkin' data center in NC.

And they can't add web commerce servers?

Store would only guarentee 16th-20th for delivery. Damn, most of us would have got thru on the iphone app but they pulled down the entire store too soon.

Best of luck, they just say they can't order anything because they use the online site as well.
