Suck. I got to choose everything and then it never summarized my order. Stuck on that screen, can't add to cart. Also on hold for an Apple rep, but who knows if that will pan out.

any day 1 apple vets, do you know if the iPad is an indirect signature item? If so I'm definitely doing shipping. I know I won't be home on Friday til 6:30PM but if I can do an indirect signature, like signing a piece of paper or pre-sig then that's the way to go...

Speaking with experience on the last iphones and ipads yes you can pre-sign for deilivery then hang the form on your door.

Just got off of the phone with Apple. The rep said that it is going to be a couple of hours before everything is fixed.

everyone needs to calm down u would think there was a 9/11 magnitude event by the way everyone is up in arms

I received a blank screen after submitting my order, and got a confirmation email a few minutes later.

Keep trying the 800#. I finally got through and am on hold to place my order. Tried about ten times before I got through.

When checking out via the app it says no pick up option available.

Strange, I used the app also. I wasn't able to put the order in before the store went down again but I had already chosen delivery when given the option for pickup/delivery.

Just called the number. The lady said the store is down for a few hours at which time I could call back and place a preorder.

:(

does anyone know if you can choose the amount you want on the iphone app? or is it only add one on the app? on the website it says limit 2.

This I guess is all fairly predictable but if one company could pull this off wouldn't it be Apple. It is actually very disappointing. Don't really care when I get to preorder as long as I'm in the first batch but just sad that even apple can't get this right.

got thru on the phone, but was told they cant take phone orders because the online store is not up... so they're not up... oh well

refresh!

I can't get through either. And being in NYC, it's virtually impossible to get one at the Apple retail store since all the "foreigners" from oversees get paid to camp out at every Apple launch and eat up all the stock for weeks. Really hope Apple has a policy in place to prevent that this time (though I doubt it).

My thoughts exactly.

When I check the order status for anything I've ordered via Apple, the website gives you the option of printing out a pre-sign thingy you can leave taped to your door. Sounds like what you're asking for. However, from reading forum posts on here from people who left that form but didn't get their package delivered, it turned out to be something like drivers are not obligated to leave the package if they don't feel it's safe to do so.

I could see it being quite some time before this starts working. As soon as thousands of people give up, the rest of us will get in.

I'm hoping its a couple of hours, then that gives me time to leave work (in 10 minutes and run to the bank!)...

Yea I'm selfish.

Must be nice. I got the white screen, but no email.

IIRC, they have an "lottery" system setup in Hong Kong stores to prevent that situation. Be interesting to see if they implement it in the US!
