If he ordered with a bunch of credit cards in his name, he'll never see the other 22. If he ordered with a bunch of credit cards in other people's names, he'll probably be getting a visit from the friendly boys in blue.

I'm still stuck on preparing for shipment. It's been 48 hours now. I'm not worried, I just want a tracking number to join in on the fun, but since I'm in California, it probably won't ship until late next week.

Lol. Then I suggest try your luck before its too late ( ie the status changes to preparing ) . you never know, you could be lucky too

Just ordered 24 new ipads from the website.. using different names, address' and credit cards.. does anyone know how to determine if an order will advance to the next stage (Preparing for shipment) ?

So far only 2 of the 24 have reached Preparing for shipment...

Cool. My iPad is currently in California. Not in transit, but close enough. That's a lot closer than China. Here's to hoping it gets here a day early.

Mine was sent priority overnight, and yours was sent Overnight standard. Why the difference?
They require different signature types too. Mine requires someone over 21, IDK what I'm going to do. I'm 18, and live on my own...(FML?)
Also, Agent-P, come back to the WW games please! Miss you.

Ordered a 32GB wifi at 4:30pm EST on the 7th. Got shipment notification email today at about 9:30pm EST.

Originated in CA. I got excited until I read, "future delivery requested" lol

I'd be thrilled if it went to preparing to ship lol. Ordered on the 9th at like 4:30 am and just got the order acknowledgement earlier this afternoon. Still in processing right now

Same...the "preparing for shipment" stage for more than 48 hours now...I think lol. But I'm also in California (Orange County), so I can be patient. I would think that ordering at 1:20pm on keynote day would guarantee me an iPad by release day. You never know, but chances are slim!

Haha, I've made that mistake before too I was watching local news one morning and the reporter said she was at Ontario Airport and I was like "why is this on my local news?"

Then I discovered Ontario Mills and wanted to take my friend there...when I suggested the place, she was like "wtf I don't want to go to Canada"

But hey, Ontario, California is much closer than Ontario, Canada too

Cross-posting from the other thread: If you're as impatient as me, just head to the UPS website and choose Track by Reference. Use your order number minus the last 2 digits as the reference. This was a trick I saw on MR during the iPhone 4S release.

If your order info still says "Preparing for Shipment" or whatever, it likely has shipped already.

LOL. I just tried that. According to UPS, my iPad "3" was delivered on Feb 28, 400 miles away from my home! (I live in Orange County, delivered to San Francisco haha).
I'll keep waiting though!

I guess it would change soon enough. My iPad says shipped. When I checked 8 hours back it had just changed to preparing for shipment. That was fast . FedEx tracking points to Ontario, CA. Keep me posted on when yours gets updated .

32gb White just went to shipped via Fedex.

Ordered 16gb Thursday night, cancelled Friday morning and ordered 32gb. Went to preparing for shipment this morning/afternoon, and shipped within the past hour.

i called in to check on a random order that is still in 'processing' and the guy said it should get approved soon and that unless my credit card is non functional it will go through...

I know of a way to order multiple devices without getting denied..

I believe its ship by march 19th, not a delivery date.

Yeah, that's what it said when I placed the new order but now it says this:

iPad with Wi-Fi + 4G LTE for Verizon 64GB - Black (3rd generation)
Ships: by March 19
Delivers Mar 19 via Standard Shipping

As I said, one can hope!

Mine shipped from China on the 8th and has been in Louisville, KY since this morning en route to Ohio. I suppose it'll be sitting around for a few days before moving on since it covered almost all the distance really quickly.

I'm not sure what the difference is. During checkout I just chose standard free shipping, so I dunno why my tracking says that. Ouch, sorry to hear about the requirement of someone over 21 to sign. Being 18 myself, I can see how that might really suck. As for the WW games, do you guys have one starting soon? I really enjoyed the one I took part in. I would like to play again.

I was actually just wondering about this myself. I'm 19, I paid for the iPad and I'm having it shipped to my apartment, both in my name. If the Fedex guy does not want to hand over the goods.. were going to have some issues!
