The multicolored metal/plastic look that's been circulating is a step backwards in terms of simplicity.

I wish they'd go with something not unlike the mockup above.

I really hope they make it more black like the picture above. I've seen pictures where it's lighter gray and that's ugly.

Not a big fan of the glass bands but if they are going to do it, the picture above would be the most elegant way to do it. Looks very sleek.

I like the all black like that one, instead of the gray. I usually get white iPhones, but I'm probably going with black this year. I'm going to be put a case on it anyway, so I won't even see the back.

Is there no longer any expectation that the black iPhone will have the tinted metal bezel/uni-body?

Maybe I will be sticking with a white iPhone for the new phone... I look at my black 4S for work, and it just doesn't do it for me anymore. I do not like it like I used to.

The white GS3 I have looks really good too.

I agree that mock up is what made me like it in the first place. That gun metal look is corny to mw not to mention the multicolored back. I need that LORD VADER!

Yes, I agree. I like the richness of that matte black against the gloss. It's so opulent. I'm one of those few that still think the iPhone 5 will be different come launch day. I hope I'm right and I hope it's been redesigned from the 4/4S, but if it looks like the one you posted, it's still a winner. It may still resemble a 4/4S, but it has enough changes to make it very appealing. I likey...

If the phone looked like that, it would have no reception with all that metal.

Also, all a taper does is make it harder to hold and offer less room for battery.

the new iphone should look like this.

The bezel is still too thick. The display should go outside the physical frame of the phone without actually doing so. I know that sounds impossible but I don't care because I want it, and the customer is always right, and even more always an intolerable douche.

I'm glad you're not in charge of designing the new iphone.

Agreed 100%

It means that tapered design looks terrible, and I agree and glad the poster is not working for Apple in designing the iPhone ;) Short battery life in a tapered phone, not to mention holding one in ones hands would be awkward. Young kids would like it, but professionals would think twice.
