Exactly what I've been waiting for! Seriously. I suggested they would literally make a Mac Mini out of the Retina MacBook Pro, PCIe SSD included but was expecting them to compromise with HDDs but retain the CPU, GPU and I/O improvements but this is better than I ever expected and cheaper too.

Of course those dual core i5s better have some serious muscle compared with the previous quad i7 options or they're actually worse :-(

Could have and should have, but I'll take this!

Pretty much this. I'm sure they were waiting for broadwell but after it was pushed back time and again, they bit the bullet and decided to jump on haswell. We might see a silent broadwell update next year but the important things are already here. M.2 SSD, Wireless AC, Thunderbolt 2.

Pretty much as expected here, nothing too impressive with the Mini's updates, but most welcome thing is Apple continuing a great small form-factor computer, including nice price drop. 🙂

You have got to be kidding me. No quad core, and they actually raised the price to $699 because nobody buying the 1.4ghz model.

Wait. Does this mean that the Mac mini will come with Yosemite?

I freaking hate the UI design. I want it to run Mavericks. 🙁

They kind of zipped past what the new display works with. Probably iMac only.

PCI is the fancy (read: fast) type that you can't generally get aftermarket. Like putting two of yours together in a raid.

So they price has really gone up, since any upgrade in hard drive will be at Apple prices. I was happy until I saw the PCI SSD/

I hope they have left one sata connector.
