Where's the aluminium? 'Consumers want aluminium' or something like that. :p

From the history, we can see macbook look like ibook and macbook pro looks like powerbook. I think this tradition will not be changed. If it change its look, it would angry many people. It can very easily to be noticed that you are using new macbook or old macbook. People don't like this !!!!!!!!!!!

But iMac is for home use. People will not mind if its look has changed or completely change.

And.. if they changed the macbook to that .. then what happen to the black book.. ?? What would differentiate the two.. i personally don't think this will happen as previous posters have said.

that looks terrible. make it all black or all silver.

all "glass" black is hot.

I think next gen macbook would have new design, maybe the similar as this picture.
It won't be mixed quite like that, but I can see one based on the new iMacs. However, it would look good, just like all other Apple products.

one absolute thing is that macbook 99.9% would not use sucking GMA950 in next version.

How do you know this? Do you have inside information? No? Then don't make blanket assertions.

Many notebooks now have at least built-in graphic card better than the lowest end "GMA950", such as GMA X3100, 6200 turbo, etc.

I have no inside information. But I can say next updated of macbook, would probably has a updated in built-in graphic card, such as GMA X3100.

1280x800 on a 13.3" display is a joke? Honestly?

Don't get me wrong I like my macbook but the resolution, graphics, etc are horrendous, i can sit it next to my imac on the same pages and the macbook just looks awful.

My macbooks destiny is to serve as an appletv server instead of appletv. I'll eventually get a macbookpro laptop mainly because everything looks so weak on it.

hey, that's too similar to my idea! White inner cases (display bezel + keyboard), black outer cases (bottom case + screen case).

if they are going to use aluminum on the new MB, they should use black anodized aluminum, or any other color (kind of like the iPod). really, this "desgin" looks hideous, might be attractive to some people, but definitely not me. The kid in me thought about Cruella De Vil...

It seems Apple is straying from the white computers, and is going to black/aluminum so it sort of feels more likely Apple would just take the current MacBook, possibly make it thinner like the iMac, than put in a C2D 2.33GHZ or a low spec SR, GMA X3100, and than instead of white inner case, black outter case, they would but an aluminum inner case, glossy black outter case? It wouldn't look half bad.

Oh my god, that is absolutely atrocious. The MacBook doesn't need to be redesigned, the iBook did, and it was. The MacBook and MBP designs have aged nicely, and aren't in need of changes. That's my opinion anyway.

Just one word: blech. Not to discount your photoshopping skills, because it is a good job of a mashup, but that design is atrocious.

I clicked on the picture to get a better look, and it still doesn't seem real to me. It looks like the screen is off kilter. I too think its been photoshopped.

In any case I'm glad that, hoax or not, I should be able to buy a normal Macbook soon without worrying about it being two-tone.

I hope you didn't think that was a real image:rolleyes:

Anyhow, I just don't see Apple making their notebooks two-tone. Somehow, it'll be so...PC:p

That photoshop job didn't tickle me fancy.

"make it all black or all silver." - Agreed.

You may dream all you like kids, the new MacBook revision will surely not come with X3100, because then it'd cut into the sales of MBP. Apple needs a clear distinction between these two products. Look at the revised Mac Mini for example.
