SO excited to see the new colors! I preordered the pink one from Wireless Rage after having bought the white/cranberry from Amazon a few weeks ago and absolutely falling in love with this case. It's perfect, as far as I'm concerned-- really has a nice feel in the hand, provides ample protection without a tremendous amount of bulk, and looks sharp as hell. :D Yeah, the pink may end up being a little "Hello Kitty," but I definitely love it more than the old colors.

how much dust gathers in the candyshell? do you have to take the phone out often? Is the sleep awake button very difficult to press in the case? How is the drop protection...trying to decide between this and the incipio superhero

From my experience not much at all accumulates. The case itself feels fantastic. It's not loose and it feels like it can take a fair fall.

The sleep/awake is kinda difficult to press but it gets broken in a bit and doesn't' bother me at all really. The volume buttons are responsive even though they don't "feel" like it.

Personally i love the case and can't wait for my White/grey.

I agree with the poster upwards in the thread- no dust accumulates. It's a little difficult to take the iphone in and out of this case, compared to other cases, so if you plan on doing that frequently this probably isn't the right case for you :( It has superb drop protection, it's a very tough outershell. I dropped my phone on a wood floor with it on and it was fine. I have no trouble with the volume buttons. The sleep/awake button needs a harder push than without, but no big deal. I think the only downside to this case would be if you needed to take it in and out of the case often. HTH :D

BatWing Black and WaxStick White are in stock now!

I just ordered my BatWing Black Candy Shell on the Speckproducts.com website

I really hope they ship it soon!

Ordered black and white cases with code this afternoon right after email notified me. They already shipped!

These news colors are just excellent compared to the old ones.

Apparently there is also a new AT&T exclusive color- pink and purple combined. http://www.insanely-great.com/news.php?id=10482 "CandyShell in Purple/Pink is available exclusively via AT&T."

There's one on ebay, I don't know if I'm allowed to link to it or not but it's easily found. It's very pretty, I'm going to check out my local AT&T today to see if they have it :D

that combo sounds gross but hey thats just me.

I went to the local Apple Store today to get a black/gray Candyshell. I tried every one in the store. I have a 32gb 3GS. Every single one of them caused the volume controls to malfunction. It kept turning the volume up. I couldn't turn it down. Every time I would push the down button, it would go downotch and then turn right back up and flash the volume bar on the screen and it kept flashing the volume bar. I went through all 4 of the in the store.

Has anyone else had this problem? And would it loosen up after a little use?

Thanks for your help.

I just picked up one at the Apple Store and too experienced this issue immediately after putting on the skin. The good news is now 4-5 hours after placing it on my iPhone, the up volume rocker is functioning fine. I think the case just had to settle and loosen up a bit.

Other than that minor issue that has since resolved itself, the new Candyshell cases are amazing. Great solid feel with excellent protection. No complaints here.

I also had the issue with the volume rocker. After a stretching the silicone buttons for a minute I put my iPhone back in the case and the problem had disappeared.

I think they just have to loosen up a bit, mine is perfect now:

Thanks guys. After reading Cavemonkey50s response, I went back to the Apple Store last night and got one. I haven't put it on yet, but before I do, I will try smarter's suggestion and stretch them out a bit. I appreciate your help.

I was in love in my original CandyShell. But having to get mine replaced just to have it have the same issues turned me off.

The backs will quickly crack on these.
The thin plastic around the dock connector will break pretty fast.
Some dust gets in - but that's an issue with all cases.
It is bulky as hell.

This case as well as the Incase slider taught me that the best iPhone is one not in a case.
