The new Voice Memos icon is so ugly! Why did they have to change it?

Just place it in a folder with some of your other apps. That way you don't have to look at it.

I honestly didn't know they changed the icon since it's in my "Apple" folder. Plus, I never use the app anyway.

same with me....mine is in a folder with the calculator so i wont even have to bother looking at it.
 
I went to the Apple Store today and asked one of the Genius guys about this change and he was mean to me.

If the changing of an icon is all you can find to complain about, then Apple is doing one hell of a job! Find something that actually effects even the slightest bit of functionality and then I'll listen.

What a waste of 2 mins of my life this thread has been.

Not sure what to think about this comment. Functionality alone is not the end-all, be-all. On one hand, it's a relatively minor change in the grand scheme of things. On the other, Apple prides itself on aesthetics and usability and these qualities cannot be undermined or else you end up with sloppy interface and design. I feel that although it's aesthetic and therefore mostly subjective, I rather lean towards the latter and that such a change can affect contrast when there is already a substantial amount of default blue.

Agreed. Some people are just never happy.
 
After upgrading to 4.2.1, I now don't mind the looks of the Voice Memos app. What I do mind however, is that all my memos were deleted in the process.

I didn´t have my Voice Memos deleted, but all my music in iPod was deleted. There´s Apple for you, it just works!
 
It doesnt bother me at all. I also experienced the deleted music files on my ip4 after updating to the new ios. I just resynced my phone on viola! My music is back!

I was slightly irritated by this to the point that I made a temporary solution, you can add the page to home screen, rename "Voice Memos" and it'll create a faux voice memos icon which will look right again

You can't possibly be serious...put a completely non-funcitioning icon on your phone just so it appears that it's an App? Seriously, one of the most asinine things I've ever seen.

I don't see why this is so serious, it's just an icon, move on :confused:
