there are 4 months since last iphone update, and you're making another plans?

Sure, why not? :D

Actually, according the MR buyer's guide, there was an iPhone update on 2/2008 (mem upgrade) and then one in 7/2008 (3g). That's a 5 month term. So, it's not entirely unprecedented.

Perhaps, but add sources reported by NYT as well. And now the Fortune article? Verizon selling iPads? This rumor has got more steam than any in the past.

Fortune has been claiming a Verizon iPhone was coming at least as long as the WSJ has. Don't know what to make of the NYT report. As for Verizon selling iPads, if that is evidence of anything, I would sooner suspect that it is evidence that Apple plans to release a CDMA iPad than a CDMA iPhone.

In fact, in light of court papers Apple filed referring to a five year exclusivity agreement with Cingular/AT&T, I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that we should not expect a CDMA phone before June, 2012.

Contracts change all the time.

Edit: In fact Fortune has run stories about a Verizon iPhone in the past. One key difference, all those stories called it a rumor or discussed what it would take for it to happen. This is the first time they have called the Verizon iPhone a 'fait accompli'.

Thank you for pointing that out to the other members here that apparently, weren't aware of this agreement.

I want an iphone that has a large screen like that of a Droid X. Similarities to the droid X on my wish list end there.

I'm a guy, I wear pants with big pockets. Give me a huge iPhone.

True, there might be a pattern, there might not be. But judging from their releases, it might be highly plausible that the next iphone (or iPhone 5) wouldn't have that many changes to it.

Original iPhone (oooh, pretty and shiny)
Original iPhone Gen 2 (small update in capacity)
iPhone 3G (oooh, faster and new design)
iPhone 3GS (same thing as 3G, little faster, bump in capacity, camera, etc)
iPhone 4 (oooh, way faster, newer design, lots of newer features, sexy)
iPhone 5? - Minor updates? new camera, bump in capacity?
iPhone 6? - ???

So, by going off this here, assuming there is some pattern, the IP5 would have some minor updates to it and the iPhone 6 would be the next OOOOOH for Apple as far as the iPhone series go. Since this is a rumors forum, I'm guessing not a whole lot of things for the next iPhone but the 2012 model should be something to look out for.
The original iPhone and the iPhone 3G have the same processor so the 3G can't be faster.

He might have been referring to network speeds.
