just get the 2.93GHz 15" MBP that's currently available, stick a big SSD when you can, and 6 or 8 gigs of Ram as others have mentioned
Isn't there a place that will install a custom matte screen in your 15" like on the new uni 17"?
That will make yours more special.
Oh, and thanks for helping out the economy.![]()
What is this? What a weird competition. Do you guys also arm wrestle, compare who can do sudokos quickest or compare the size your respective penises?? Stop it! Now!
You want to 1up your buddy? Get a Dell.
LOL, sorry I couldn't resist.
Send it to Colorware.![]()
thanks Svndmvn, **** man, I didnt know i can upgrade upto 2.93 now!!?? I love it! I will look into that. And 8 gigs of Ram in the 15"? I didnt think the 15 could handle that much?
you can upgrade to 2.93 now, just check out Apple's site, the option got updated like 2 weeks ago.. I doubt something big will happen in months..
about the ram, probably 6 is the max, quite strangely, since the 17" has the 8 option, and old gens supported, even though not perfectly 8 as well. Believe me, 6 is enough, and who knows, it could be possible for 10.6 to extend the limit, but at the same time Apple just likes to open up the limit on hardware they release at the moment in order to sell more
Oh, and yes, colorware usually has its warranty..
WOW!! Ya man, i see it 2.93!! I just bought my MBP 3 months ago, I JUST missed it! What would be THE most cost effective way to upgrade to 2.93 and 6 Gigs of Ram? I dont want to install myself and mess up my machine, id rather bring it in somewhere to a pro.
Thanks Sand

Yes it is! And yes it is the most powerful Mac! However, that's the slightly older version, the newer one went unibody too. The only problem is that Apple doesn't consider this to be a consumer machine; only registered developers and other VIPs are allowed to purchase it. Fortunately, I'm one of those people, so if you drop me a PM, we'll see if we can't get you on a waiting list!OMMFG!!!!!!!! is that for real? Did someone really do that? Is that the most powerful Mac on Earth? If so, what does he need that much juice for? 3D modeling or something?

That is pretty freaking awesome Brightside!! Hey man, what kind of programs are people with that much horsepower using? 3D or video editing?
I going 6 gigs RAM because Im using Photoshop CS4, Itunes/or watching a movie file, and downloading gig's of mp3's or videos all simotaneously.

you have 2+2GB in your Mac so you'd need a 4GB stick and take one of yours out in order to get 6GB, you only have two slots..
or better yet, just buy a 256GB ssd, if I'm not mistaking it could be better than adding 2gigs of ram for your general use..
