I have several friends and family that have been enjoying their iPhone 5 all day. But me? The iPhone and gadget fanatic? The one that was up at 3AM pre ordering? I'm still waiting on UPS. Anyone else think standing in line is the way to go?

Did you order from the Apple Store? Everyone I know who ordered at 3am from the Apple Store was guaranteed delivery before 10:30am today. Mine arrived at 9:30am. I preordered my 4s through the Verizon site and it didn't arrive until the evening of the launch day. I learned to always order through the Apple Store.
I waited in line for the last 4 iPhones. I thought I would preorder and sleep at home this time. Mistake. 1510 and still no delivery that was supposed to be here at 1030!!! WTF? Fail!
I ordered from the Apple store at midnight and still don't have mine. Ups said by 3 and they've already missed that deadline
This is the experience that I have heard about too. Hindsight.... I am still excited but the time is wearing down on my launch day hype.
Was yours delivered to a business or residential address? My understanding is that the former got 1030 while the latter got 3 pm. I'm in the latter group and still waiting although it's 3:13 pdt here
I didn't see anything about a guaranteed delivery before 10:30am but mine finally arrived.

Yeah, I dunno. The preordering itself was pretty convenient, but after that came the week of worrying whether the order had gotten screwed up, whether or not it would ship on time, the fact that Verizon somehow got my shipping address wrong, waiting for FedEx, hoping nothing happens to the shipment, etc. Standing in line is a PITA, but at least it's not as drawn out of a process.
It was a cinch for me.
In hindsight it was far nicer than all the obsessing pre-order people did.

Residential. It said 3PM or end of day. I consider 6:23 past end of day but as long as it comes today ill be happy.

Sitting in my Air Conditione home waiting for the doorbell to ring, while still being able to work from home, play a game, watch a video and then setup my phone right away once it arrives.

Mine was delivered to a residential address at 9:45am and UPS said "by end of day" on the tracking page.
I stood in line today and met some really cool people. Would take it back in a sec to have been able to preorder with 9/21 delivery.
Oh the horror of having to wait until 5pm to get your phone delivered. Still beats the hell out of standing in line for hours. Sure, you could try walking into a corporate cellular store and picking one up but there's no guarantee that will get you a phone on launch day.
