I believe in normal mode you can play as Donkey/Diddy/Dixie and in Funky mode you can play as Donkey/Funky

Makes sense. yeah, I seem to remember a Nintendolife video (or perhaps GameXplain, I can't remember) mentioning something about needing to be careful when you chose you character at the start, as it locks you to certain characters. (then they went on to say that you could toggle between funky and donkey). So this makes sense.
Previously I had assumed it to mean that perhaps you could only toggle between characters if you played in Funky mode, rather than the normal modes. But what you said actually makes alot more sense.

Do you get more than one save file in the Swicth version of the game?

(If so, we could always potentially make one save file in Donkey/Funky mode, then make a second save file in Diddy/Dixie mode). Would mean having to do two playthroughs in order to be able to experience playing with every character, but that would able a way at least, without missing out.

What else aside from KONG letters and beating the game gets you 100%? All the puzzle pieces too?

I’m 66% with some puzzle pieces but all KONG

That final boss took hours of trying I sucked at it

Sad I beat the game :( I was gonna pace myself but I was genuinely addicted just like DKCR

Tropical Freeze is so great.
WOW! That didn't take you long! How many days/hours roughly did it take to get from start to finish?
If it's possible to complete the story mode of all the levels in a short amount of time, I might even get this before Hyurle Warriors comes out.
(Might actually make more sense to do it that way round if that's the case, because I know I'm gonna be occupied for a while once I have any Zelda game in my hands!)

I honestly dunno but every time I played I binged cause I was addicted

I beat 1/3
Of the game (two worlds) in one sitting

Haha, Yeah, Nintendo games are addictive like that!
So are there only 6 worlds in total on this one then?
If you were able to get through a 3rd of the whole game in just one sitting though means playing it through to completion before my Hyrule Warriors gets here is *technically* possible. (doubt I'll have as much free time as you spend on it though!) Impressive that you got through that much though, nevertheless!

Hi Guys, I started new YouTube channel and I would like to show you my video about Switch accessories:

Hope u enjoyed and like would be appreciated :)
Good luck on your youtube channel. These are not the best switch accessories though. Those soft pouches (while they look nice) store absolutely nothing in them, and are way too soft to protect your switch from anything at all.
There are loads of better ones out there. Probably the best two are the RDS ones and the Orzly ones. (RDS ones if you want the nice fancy Nintendo characters on them. They even have a splatoon one of those if you're into splatoon, but the Orzly is better for storage though. (by miles)

If you want to try them out for your videos to see what I mean, these are the two I'm talking about...

RDS Splatoon Case:
(Nintendo themed - lots of different designs exist for the same one)
https://www.amazon.com/NINTENDO-SPLATOON-PREMIUM-ORIGINAL-DESIGNED-MULTI-GAME/dp/B071JGB2CV

Orzly Hard Carry Case:
(best for storage - lots of different colors for the same one)
https://www.amazon.com/Orzly-Carry-Case-Compatible-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B01NAUKS62

Without trying to sound mean, people will find your channel alot more useful if you show them things they didn't already know (rather than just reeling off a price list of things that every switch owner with an amazon account has already seen themselves). I hate to say it buddy, but as it is, that video was painful to watch.

If you're serious about being a YouTuber though, a good way to have some useful content is to do things like comparison videos, as that helps people who have only ever seen stuff online answer some of the niggling questions that they wouldn't have otherwise known before the bought it. (so ask yourself things like "what didn't I know that was bugging me when I bought this, that I could help people get an understanding of?" and show them that).

Sorry if that came across meaner than intended btw (I promise I'm only saying these because it will help you)

Good luck on your YouTube journey though. (and trust me on this. take note of what I just said above).
You may hate me now, and may feel like shooting the messenger, but you'll thank me one day when it all makes sense!

Hey, thank you for your feedback :)

I will be doing more Switch and Mac gaming videos, and definitely will do another Switch accessories video.
I'm immune on critics, so don't worry :) I appreciate your post and I want constantly improve my work :).

I see your point with hard cases, I will take this suggestion to future videos.

And yes, I'm thinking about comparison videos, that's also valuable suggestion.

Cheers ;)

What do the puzzle pieces work for in Donkey Kong? Does anyone know? Just for collection or do you earn something after collecting them all?

It counts toward your completion percentage and unlocks artwork in the gallery. It’s not required to unlock all the levels. Collecting all kong letters in all levels (including the A and B hidden levels in each world by finding secret exits) is required to access the K levels. Collecting the relics in the K levels (by just completing each K level) will unlock the last world with 3 tough levels.

No worries. Glad I didn't offend you by saying that, and that you took that the right way. (constructively, as is was intended). You're right though, definitely need to be immune to criticism on youtube. (there'll be plenty in the comments section far worse). I still felt bad writing it though, as I don't want to go round upsetting people. So please accept my apologies all the same. (basically I'm the kind of person that would tell a friend they had a booger in their nose, rather than being quiet out of politeness and letting everybody make fun of them in public, if you see what I mean)
Not saying you had a booger, I'm just using it as an analogy. (you get what I'm saying!) :D

Anyways, good luck with all the youtube videos, and if you discover anything new and useful on switch, it's useful to know. One topic people might wanna learn about is which electrical accessories are safe to use after the 5.0 update. (lots of people have reported that certain ones bricked up their switch, so many of us don't dare to use them just in case. But many of them do work. So I bet people will be looking for stuff like that).

Thanks! This is the first Donkey Kong game I'm playing in many many years, so I don't remember what everything is for

Always good to see some info on stuff I've not heard of before. Is this one a Nindie, or has it been on other consoles?
The Bit.Trip series (where Runner originated) and Runner2 have always been closely associated with Nintendo consoles like Wii, Wii U, and 3DS. But they're also available on Steam and the team has done various ports over the years.

The current team behind Runner3 is a bit smaller and is focusing on Switch & Steam before expanding to other platforms.

Thanks! Being a Nintendo junkie, I'm surprised that these ones flew completely under my radar! May have to give them a try. Hyrule Warriors has already got me hooked again though, so it's probably going to be quite a while before I'll be able to prize myself away from it to play other things now. (...knew that would happen!) lol.

I had a real hard time trying to figure out how to enable multiplayer mode on it though. (tried to do it over the weekend when my daughter came round, but didn't figure it out until last night after she went home).

On the WiiU version it was enabled by pressing the "+" button on the character select screen, but on the switch version, they changed where the stetting is. (You now have to click the left thumb-stick on the character select screen, instead of pressing the plus button).

They didn't label it well on the options either, which wasn't a smart move on the developers part. (I bet I wasn't the only one who struggled). At first I was even beginning to think that this mode didn't exist on the switch version. But I'm glad it does exist, and that I've finally figured it out. Just thought it was worth mentioning in case anyone else got stumped on the same thing.

3 save files on the Switch version! If you need more you could always use another profile.
Thanks man! 3 would probably cover it! (all it would need to be is enough to have all the characters playable). Pity you can't just interchange the characters whenever you want all from one save file, but being as they did it this way where it's either donkey/funky or the other three, at least it takes a bit of the sting away knowing there are enough save files to do still not miss out on playing some of them! Where there's a will, there's a way! (...or a pit with bananas!) :D

Seems like fall is gonna be great for the Switch with Smash, Pokemon and Yoshi, maybe even a new surprise.

Also there's rumors about Fortnite and Dragon Ball FighterZ coming at E3. Would be awesome.

Plus this year we will also have Mario tennis, Captain Toad, and Donkey Kong already released. Kirby is too shallow IMO.

And next year: Metroid 4, new Pokemon, Bayonetta 3 and surely more ports (hopefully that Super Mario 3D world).

Mario Tennis is rather brilliant isn't it and the online matchmaking works a dream - instabuy for me for the full fat version. Got my ass handed to me online by a little spikes guy with a big racket - presumably someone i aint unlocked yet.

Missing DK Tropical Freeze on the Wii U but my son got it for the Switch.

Good lord I havent been so frustrated, annoyed, and ticked off at a game in quite awhile all while having a complete blast! What a masterpiece.

The music, the small details, the level design...wow.

I am proud of my 5 year old making it to level 3 so far and only "asking dad" when he needs help.

I think it's sadly telling that there have been no posts in here about Nintendo's E3 Direct and their showing of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

I'm sure the game will be incredibly fun, and as a Smash fan, I'm really looking forward to it. But spending 25 minutes on the tiny details was not the best way to handle E3.

I've never played a Smash game before as it didnt have a solo player mode per se.

With my son now intwined in the Switch universe we will definitely pick this one up.

Never been a fan of Smash Bros, but i'm sure it'll be huge come the holiday season.

And yeah, i'm disappointed there wasn't much shown for me (the single player gamer).
