Nice! Make sure you look for the Zelda "Explorers Bundle," same price but you'll get a cool printed bonus.

I've seen Zelda used for $45-$50 but for $10-$15 more, this collectible bundle is awesome (keep all the stuff with it).

You may be able to sell the extra stuff to someone who already has the game and wants the extras, thus making your game cheaper (I'd say its worth around $20 plus shipping).

Looks like the DOOM port is pretty solid. Technically, it comes up short compared to the other systems' versions, but being able to play this on a portable console is pretty amazing.

Finally bought a switch a couple weeks ago. Figured with Mario coming out and system starting to be readily available, now was the time to buy one. I bought he Mario bundle and was well worth it.

Having a baby and not being able to play games as much anymore, this is the perfect console for me being a handheld and can play on tv.

Finished Mario Odyssey a couple days ago and it’s a incredible game of course. Going to take me a while to try and find all the moons. Will pick up Zelda BOTW and Mario and rabbids soon enough.

The Gamestop I was at had a bunch of the Mario bundles. The Target had a few of the Neon ones.

That's going to change over the next few weeks with the Holidays - anyone that wants one better get one by next weekend...

I was at Micro Center yesterday and they had a bunch of the regular Switch consoles.

The Target I was at again today has no stock (though when I got mine there, they get Nintendo re-stocks on Mondays).

Funny, everywhere I go there's a lot of Xbox One X's... ;)

Anyone have any thoughts on Doom(Switch)? Reviews are up. I've been looking forward to it, and it looks like quite the technical marvel.

Amazon now ships on release day instead of before. So mine ships tomorrow.

I was playing on Xbox One a little bit at a time but stopped when I heard it was going to be on the Switch.

Kinda know what to expect - just use the PC version (Demo on Steam) on 720p/Medium 30fps... :)

Gonna just play it on-the-go.

I just bought the PS4 version last week on sale used for $13 .

I'll have every copy of the console version. My original Shareware PC floppies are somewhere... ;)

Will post a pic...

I believe the best videos to watch are the digital foundary analysis of the Switch port of Doom. Their TLDR of it is, it's one of the worst official ports of Doom, but the Switch runs Doom far better than an equally specced PC running the PC port. However digital foundary did say Doom running at all on a tablet device is totally amazing and it's that fact alone that totally amazed them.

If you would have told me a few years back that current gen TV console games (with slightly lower settings) would be on a portable device, I'd have laughed at you. How wrong I was. This just proves that these kind of tablets are the way of the future. Soon enough they will improve to become the gold standard.

That's a US exclusive (for the localised in English version) The rest of the world don't get this. Just another one of the many many times Nintendo out the US first and didn't care about their other regions UK/US and ANZ. Even at times Nintendo put the US over Japan surprisingly.

The rest of the world has the right to be salty over this (because they have to import it, which is getting harder to do)

The thing to remember about tablets is they are truly awful for arcade games / shooters as touch controls are beyond rubbish - the decent in-built controls for the Switch bulldoze all over my iPad for any of these sort of games.

Thanks for pointing that out, wasn't aware of the exclusivity.

But hey, UK got a really cool Samus Returns bundle that I was jealous of. =)

Like really... I hate putting my hands and fingers all over the playing field screen...

My copy of DOOM arrives today!

Gee, I don't know if I'll be playing the "Lawbreakers Fee Weekend"... ;)

This weekend I'll be picking up Snipperclips Plus at Best Buy (GCU for $24).
Next week I'm downloading Rocket League!

Still trying to decide on Skyrim. I've never played it. Would it just feel like a lesser/generic BotW, or will it have its own unique elements?

O...... M...... G.....

DOOM, made for PS4 and Xbox One, is on the Switch....

It is so hard to believe.... it is running just fine on what is essentially a 7" tablet...

I can tell the lower 30fps framerate (I also loaded the Demo on my PC to test my GPU cards with), but it runs really smooth, and the controls, considering the small joycons, are great (had to decrease the sensitivity for me). I can also tell the lower graphics settings.

But with the complex environments, well, I'm surprised it runs at all...

I disconnected form the Interenet and the physical copy will still run the Single Player Campaign and Arcade mode (for us collectors that may be playing a Switch with all the servers no longer available).

After playing the Intro Level, downloading the day-one patches and DLC/Multiplayer levels (another 8 Gig).

I can see in the future offering an "arcade only" or "multiplayer only" package if you've already played the Single Player on a Console/PC for a reduced price.

I can also see a Demo being released like there is one now...

Now that the engine has been ported over to Switch, any game that uses it can be released for it (Wolfenstein II is next).

I only play my Switch mobile, so I don't know how it would look on a TV, I would imagine it is just like running the PC version in 720p/Medium (what I've already done on trying out cheaper GPU cards).

Unbelievable... :)

BoTW is coming from the Zelda heritage, as you know, which I'll assume you are familiar with...

Skyrim is the 4th generation (Daggerfall -> Morrowind -> Oblivion -> Skyrim) in the series...it has a computer RPG roots, but Bethesda has taken out a lot of the "grindy" computer game stuff and simplified the controls for video games.

So basically, it is more of a "hardcore" RPG with its own world and "mythology" which you could immerse yourself in. In essence, both BoTW and Skyrim are examples of "best of class" games, BoTW is (my opinion) the best console video game RPG, which Skyrim is the best computer RPG. Skyrim definitely has its own unique elements, but you may not notice it initially.

A bigger concern for me (I already pre-ordered the game) is that Skyrim was so great on the PC because of the mods...stuff like "Follower Trap Safety" was *essential* for enjoying the game (why Lydia...why do you have to spring every f--king trap in the whole damn dungeon?), and I don't think you can have mods on the Switch, so, not sure what the gameplay will be like. Still, it was a great game, with great locations and was very immersive.

IGN's Nintendo Voice Chat podcast this week featured the president of developer Factor 5, which released the awesome Star Wars Rogue Squadron games across the N64 and GCN. The games were technical marvels in their time, and the reason I picked up a GameCube back in the day. It's a great interview for anyone interested...

Cheers

Wow - Rogue Squadron Wii - too bad EA owns the Star Wars videogame license as they won't be releasing any Switch Star Wars game for a long time - that is until Nintendo can figure out how a 3rd party can handle in-game Microtransactions and Loot Boxes...

Rogue Squadron games still hold up graphically and game-play wise even to this day...

Argh! Now there's TOO MANY Switch games...

Going to get RIVE - got on PC a long while ago. Just finally tried it and like it - would play it more mobile... ;)

Anyone getting Rime? Looks like there's the Switch Tax on the physical copy - though it will hold its value since you can trade it in.

Getting Rocket League (bought used and sold the Xbox One copy back when it was still worth something and got my most of my money back when I found out it was coming to the Switch).

Transcripted looks cool - downloading the Steam demo now to see how it is...

Since I'm skipping the X because some iOS issues that doesn't seem to flow with my work flow, I guess I will set my sights on video games.

Just going to wait Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I'm not really a Nintendo fan anymore. They don't cater to my age. I loved them as a kid of course with NES, Game Boy, and SNES. But since 1996, been a PlayStation fanboy. I did own every Nintendo home console until Wii U.

This Nintendo Switch looks fun. Something different to try out. Been eyeing for one since March. I plan buying another 128 GB microSD card and download all the games I like. Not 100% because I rarely do play on Vita and PS4 slim. Gaming isn't my thing anymore.

It's either Switch or getting the Xbone S for under $200 on Black Friday. I would love to have another media hub.

Got my cart of Doom yesterday.... and there was a patch which took the entire evening to download; not good. The game is pretty frantic.... possibly too frantic for me. It looks alright...pretty much like a last-gen(XB360/PS3) game IMHO, which is fine by me. I havent seen it running on any of the other current gen hardware though, so dont have any basis for comparison.

I realized that after it finally finished. i thought the multiplayer would be optional....i really dont want/need it.... but would like bugfixes and optimizations...so i guess im stuck with it.

Hmm may need to get a Switch.. you lot marking me want one even more lol! And the fact Doom, Wolfestein 2, Rocket Legue, Skyrim, LA Naior (or however you spell it) are on it!!! Top triple A games on a frigging tablet. And that’s not including Nintendo’s games.. how long till GTA 5 is on it?

Too AAA games that tend to be remastered last gen titles:(
