Popped in my SIM (using a SIM adaptor) and fired it up. Running strong! Don't know how long I'll keep using this, but in light of all the iPhone upgrade talk it's kind of fun to 'downgrade' (from a 6S to this iP4) for a few days. Messages come through and this iPhone seems to be holding a charge equal to my newer iPhone. The bells and whistles are missing, but so far, so good!

I didn't care for jailbreaking, but I sure miss the days of the iPhone 4 & 5 running iOS 4, 5, and 6. The days where everything was simple and just worked unlike the mess we battle with today.

My iPhone 5 running iOS 6 was probably my favorite iPhone experience of all time. That iOS was so smooth and well machined, and the speed gains in the 5 (at that time) made it blazing fast. That was also the last true black iPhone (until now).

I'm hoping my new black 7 plus takes it to the next level.

Agree completely. I wish I still had it and wish I never updated to iOS 7. Hindsight is a helluva thing.

So, jailbroken as well?

Ah, the iPhone 4. Still remember that launch like it was yesterday. 2010 is still my favorite "smartphone phone era" if you will. Launch of the OG Droid at the end of 2009 (the phone that put android on the map and completely changed the game IMO), Nexus One in January 2010 Droid Incredible in April 2010, HTC Evo in June 2010, launch of the first generation Galaxy S June 2010, launch of the iPhone 4 in June 2010, Droid X in July 2010, and the Droid 2 in August 2010. Good times man. Good times

I still have my White 32gb 3GS running iOS 5! Still fire it up from time to time just for nostalgic purposes (and to see if it still works).

I still prefer iO6's UI. What I've always hated from iOS7 was the low contrast and thin text.

I still have my 5th gen iPod touch running ios 6.1.2 that apple actually gave to me... What happened was my mom's iMac ended up being defective and she lost a ton of data, and she kept complaining. Eventually, to shut her up they said what woukd you like? Anything in the $300 range. I told her "iPad mini" as it had just been released but apple said the best they could do was an iPod touch. So i ended up with a blue 32gb 5th gen for free. I know that sounds made up, but i assure you, it's completely true

My mother uses my old 3GS running 6.1.6 and I've just prised it out of her hands and swapped it (massively against her will) for a thoroughly modern 5c! It's like I've plonked her in front of the controls of a 747, bless her heart!
