The Official World Cup 2006 Thread

Well, it was a great Cup. Ending this way leaves a bad taste. Not that I begrudge Italy's victory. Congratulations to them.

How about growing up a little bit, being happy the team you were rooting for won, and be just a little bit sad about an incident that reflects poorly not just on Zidane, but on soccer (sorry, football) as a whole...

How about letting him express his opinion and emotion how he feels fit without being belittled and, patronised?

what if zidane was still in, i think that would have changed the penalties possibly because the order would be different and trezuget would probably change his mind IMO

Yeah, it's very sad that this World Cup probably will be remembered most for the head butt.

Thanks for posting the clip. That's the first I've seen of it. That's stupidity at its flagrant worst. Could have easily fractured a sternum.

If Zidane had of stayed on, France may well have won the shootout. Equally, he could have conceded an own goal or penalty and the match wouldn't have even got to penalties. It's all ifs and buts.

I'm sure right now no one is thinking more about what might have been than Zidane himself.

I don't think it was dependent on Italy winning...it's been hinted at in general for those involved.

Besides, Juventus had five on the Italian side and three on the French side...
 
Well.. I am Brasilian (Brazilian to you Americans) and when France got Brasil i despised them so going for italy was the only way to go!!!!! So i am soo glad Italy won plus i just love the italian too (but brasil is still the best)

And after The winning of Italy the are the 2nd best in the worl behind Brasil beacuse Italy Has now won 4 World cups and Brasil has won 5!!!!!!!!! they are my 2 favorite teams but i cant let italy beat Brasil next world cup...



GO BRASIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
