This is the official thread for posting your comments and reactions after having the device for one week. Creating a one week thread before it has been a week, is well just weak.

It won't be a week until midnight tonight. Since the ipad came out on a Saturday, Sunday was the first full day to use the ipad, you need a full Saturday of play to make it an official week. I'll start an officially official thread tonight.

Seriously? No? One week = 7*24 hours. So it has gone one week exactly on the minute the iPad was released today.

Guys, as there are a lot future iPad owners(me :D) can you write neatly your good points and the bad ones? So is easy for us to understand what are we going to buy in a couple of weeks, and also is easier for everyone else to read and agree/disagree with you. ;)

Yes but since everybody received their iPads at different times last Saturday, its only fair to let the whole day pass, to make sure everyone who got a late delivery, had trouble setting it up, etc. etc., reach that full week before we officially call it a week. Its just common sense with some manners thrown together. Tomorrow is the one week anniversary.

So, as any first gen product there are a few quirks. My wifi drops signal strength, but I don't loose signal. Safari crashes once a day or so. But overall very solid. It does everything I wanted and more. I had already started using my iPhone more and more and that was quite limiting sometimes. I don't feel the iPad is limiting at all. I just started watching some shows on Netflix and that did it for my wife. We will be buying a second one.

    Surfing is great
iTunes manipulation of files in iwork is great.
    Goodreader is great.
    Mobility is great.
    Some apps are ok
Keyboard is great with the apple case or flat on a table.
    Battery life is outstanding

Downloading of files from online blows
Developers not taking advantage of the iPad yet.
Apple apps should all have been ready for the iPad.

    Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

Why is this thread any more official or necessary than the other 3 identical threads?

What about those who had their deliveries even later? Maybe we are only on the first day? No, that does not make sense. The iPad have been out 1 week when we passed the time at which it was first made availiable, so there are bound to be people who have had it for one week today, those who have not can post later if they want.

Great! Now we are going to have a bunch of threads called THE OFFICIAL ONE WEEK ANNIVERSARY SINCE I GOT MY IPAD. Using your silly logic, I would have to throw a birthday party for all my kids on different days instead of just using June 15th as a half-way point in the year and celebrating them all at once!

No, that was YOUR logic. Your logic was "let's not put the one week mark at the time it was actually released, let's wait a few hours because not everyone got it directly".

MY logic was that the one week mark is one week after it was released, not caring about when different people got it.

I'm going to start a campaign to stop people using the word "official" in thread titles when it makes absolutely no sense. Might as well call it the banana one week thread.

EDIT: It's been changed to unofficial. One thread down, a million to go.

Got the 32gb. No wifi problems at all. The device is extraordinary. The typing pad is fine. Perfect for the device. I love this thing. It's rocket fast. Amazing design. Other than the wifi people (and I feel for ya) anyone who complains about this thing is spoiled. It's a game changer in every way.

My logic was making a joke that I figured people would get. My logic was faulty. (I really thought the kids birthday line would have made that clear.)

I like mine a lot. Since Saturday, it has hardly left my hand. The things I don't like about it are the obvious: no multitasking(can't use iheartradio while surfing the net), the constant safari page refresh, and the wifi drops a few times a day.

Out of those three things, I have to say that the page refresh issue is the biggest I-don't-like. It wasn't such a big deal at first, but it has become rather annoying to go to another tab for less than 30 seconds to find that the original tab I was looking at had to be refreshed. This happens with only 2 tabs open. I've tried clearing the cache and history, rebooting, but it doesn't help.

The wifi issue is not really that big of a deal for me. When the connection drops, it reconnects rather quickly with no input needed from me. This happens a few times a day.

Finally, my smallest gripe is the multitasking thing. The reason that it is not so much of a deal is that I've never had it before and have gotten used to being able to use only one app at a time with the iphone. Not to mention, Apple has already addressed that problem with 4.0. Though apps that stream audio are pretty much worthless at this point.

Those are the gripes. The things I like about it are:
the portability, awesome screen, netflix, and it's fun to use.

I can take it to the crapper with me:D It goes from the bed to the living room without having to unplug wires. The battery life is phenomenal.

The screen is absolutely awesome. It's just the right size for reading, watching videos, or playing games.

Netflix is the best app ever!

If I was going to do it over, and had the choice right now of getting the 3g or the wifi, I really think I would still have gotten the 32gb wifi as I did. My iphone will be sufficient for tethering when I feel the need. Also, I did a little test yesterday. I ran speedtest while tethered to my iphone. The speeds were luke warm to say the least. I got 500 down, 100 or so up. Then I ran speedtest on my iphone while connected to 3g and got the same results. So it wasn't mywi that was slowing it down, it was the 3g that was, well, just slow. And that made me wonder if I would really get more use out of the 3g model, rather than the wifi. With the connection I tested, it would not have been ideal for streaming video at all. I don't know if I could justify the extra cost without being able to take full advantage of the device while on 3g.

So to sum it up, I'm happy with what I have.

You do NOT take it into the crapper?!? You take it in to the crapper? I would never take my iPad into the bathroom. Never! Not in a million years. Although, I have hardly let go of the thing. I hate to put it down. I really do.

I gotta go hit the head. Maybe I'll put it back in the case. Then again.......:)

I can assure you, sir or ma'am, that it does indeed go with me during my trips to the John. I have to have something to read other than the shampoo bottle.

    Posted from my ipad

    I love my iPad but.....

I wish the keyboard had a tab button and arrows
I wish safari pages didn't reload and we had real tabbed browsing
I wish we had a file system off top
The iPad isn't as fast as people been exaggerating
    Downloading and uploading... Meh

Otherwise I'm very happy with my purchase :)
