The employee is trying to make a name for himself going out of his way claiming for there to be 5 inch iphone in the pipeline in spite of there being no leaks of such part.

Nothing new here.

Thats exactly what I told my friends when I picked them up in my dad's 1988 Caddillac Fleetwood Brougham....

That note is rediculous almost cartoonish....

It's okay you can stay in your little box...as someone who has bought and used the Note, it's not as big, as those who are looking from the outside in, say it is

They did, they have the note and S3. The new Nexus. So on and so on. It's the new Android fad. Nice to look at in the store and play with for a day. Then you realize you have to carry it around with you all day and actually use it as a phone occasionally.

These rumors are getting a bit stretched as we go into the home straight. Can't get here soon enough for me either.

Ya, forgot about that one, but really how is this doing in the sales department over the normal size phones ? :D Wayyyyy too big and I guess as you mentioned, it would get old very quickly

At first, yes theyre big...but after a day or two of usage, it really doesn't feel like its TOO big

Ya, right. Is that the reason you are on this iphone forum regarding the next iPhone ? Really wanting to get out of that monster NOTE of a phone ? ;)

I'm not sure if that was intentional or not (I'm leaning toward the latter), but I still found it funny based on the context.

It was. Really !

Googled it. First hit:

"Samsung has announced that its 5.3-inch Samsung Galaxy Note phablet has surpassed the 7 million sold mark which means it has inched closer to Samsung’s goal of selling 10 million units in total.

The company revealed the impressive figure today which comes after Samsung announced in March that it had sold 5 million Galaxy Notes worldwide.

Both figures are impressive considering the skepticism that some had about the potential success of a smartphone with a 5.3-inch display."

I stopped reading right there. That's about as dubious as you can get.

No doubt that you have to take it with a grain of salt as they say, but some of the details are right (such as the 9 pin connector, not 8 or 19), and it's possible there is some inside info there.

I agree the 5" screen seems very unlikely unless it's an in-between device.

He probably got it from 9to5mac.

Also, the dock connector has 30 pins, not 32.

Just wondering...

Will the 5" version include a multi-colored beanie with a propeller on top?

This thought deserves to be quoted again heres another pic......

As far as we've come, people still want to return to here

I am still holding out for the 4.3" sized screen, per some rumors last year, that Apple made a $billion deal with LG to supply millions of 4.3" screens for a future product.

The difference is that phone in the picture is just a phone. If we wanted phones that are just a phone sure they can go smaller but a smartphone that's going to be used to consume and in some instances create things will be bigger and even though the screen is wider/longer the phone is still much thinner and portable than an early cell phone like in the picture

I was going to say the same thing. It's a funny pic, but a poor argument for why phones shouldn't have larger screens, considering all of the other things they are used for.

Ive seen many state this, where's the proof?

I'd love a 4.3" screen

One crucial element is missing from that report though. Among those 7 million phones, more than 3 million has been sold in a single country, South Korea, and it's very possible the sell-through figure might be higher for the Korean market than overseas. Without such strong sales in Korea, the sales look solid but not particularly great. It is a very "regional" product, so to speak.

I love when people bring out 20 year old images of satellite phones for comparison to 4.8/5" smart-phones. Sad really.

Actually, more like 30 years and that is a cell phone, not a satellite phone. I used one of those back in the day.
