Hi, as great as the idea is, I'm sad to tell you there are already bots or spam users registering on your wiki.Quick note, please make your your page follows a basic template like:
History,
Upgrades,
Troubleshooting,
Notes,
And for titles, make sure you retain the capital letter pattern, i.e. iMac (not IMac) iBook, iPhone, (not IbOok or ipHone)
I saw the bots, I need to get captcha worked on. My stupid hosting site, Directnic (would never recommend them) went down. I don't understand. My site is up, the backend is down...Hi, as great as the idea is, I'm sad to tell you there are already bots or spam users registering on your wiki.
To get the best out of it, you'll need to do these steps:
- Add a captcha to the registration page.
- Use HTTPS instead of HTTP if possible and not too expensive. Basic CERT should be enough.
- Make an email address mandatory and enable email verification.
On topic: Great idea! I might write something about the PowerMac G4!
Yeah, no, I mean real articles describing each computer, for example, a page I'm working on currently is the iMac G4 page. Also, can you make the lowercase and templates work somehow? I'm not very good with MediaWiki. To be clear, not a personal mac page, correct? Like a generic 'iBook' page? We might make personal pages a reality sometime down the road.
Hmm, let me see if I can figure it out 🙂.Yeah, no, I mean real articles describing each computer, for example, a page I'm working on currently is the iMac G4 page. Also, can you make the lowercase and templates work somehow? I'm not very good with MediaWiki.
I actually have an idea since I haven't done this myself. Create a page for various software, such as TenFourFox stating the history, etc. Was my main idea for the PPC App Store but I think it would better fit your wiki Keaton.
I think its a great idea! Right now, I'm in the process of moving the wiki from my terrible hosting onto a self hosted box. The new (temporary) address is http://wiki.128keaton.com/wiki/Also did some work to the home page, added some categories 🙂
There is a recent changes link in the sidebar. I need to work on formatting the main page sometime soon.
Yes, it's being troublesome. It will be up soonYour Apache server seems to be having issues. I can't access it on my MBP or iPhone.
Good idea!Ok, the most complete page is the powerbook g4 page. also, feel free to add geek bench scores!
Thats enabled by default. Just do iMac G4Good idea!
Also, please put Wiki links as direct links instead of URLs. So, write for example iMac G4 instead of [apple.keaton128.com/iMacG4] or something like that.
Yeah, no, I mean when editing/creating certain article, use them instead of URLs.Thats enabled by default. Just do iMac G4
Will do.Yeah, no, I mean when editing/creating certain article, use them instead of URLs.
Half made an iTunes page. Will finish it later today. How does one add a photo to a wiki page?

Go here and upload it http://apple.128keaton.com/wiki/Special:Upload then go to the page you're editing and go
Code:
ppcarchive.png - file name; 300px is how wide, and center is an option depending on where you have the image.
Added some info on the PMG5 page about failures. All stuff I've dealt with 😀

Yes and I'm fortunate enough to have one, it did not come cheap though.I believe the final revision of the Quad actually has one of the most reliable versions of the LCS.
Nah most of its placeholder. I have drafts with versioning, download links, and screenshots I've been working on. BTW, all of Mactracker's history is from Apple History. Lastly, I don't appreciate the tone conveyed, if you see a problem with the page, you are free to edit it.http://apple.128keaton.com/wiki/Mac_OS_X so the policy is to copy and paste from Mactracker? This should be easy!
Fair enough, I understand it is a work in progress. Added a placeholder for the Public Beta.Nah most of its placeholder.
