Fair enough. Added a placeholder for the Public Beta.
Good idea. Unfortunately, we have tons of views, but only a couple of real writers and editors. While this may be because of lack of experience editing a wiki, lack of knowledge, or lack of motivation, I don't know. I just try to kickstart things to get them moving, because in the end, this will be a handy resource for me and other PPC fanatics.

Fair enough, I understand it is a work in progress. Added a placeholder for the Public Beta.
I went ahead and made the 10.5 how I'd like the rest, its not too different from what MacTracker provides, but it has download links and room for more stuff.

With the little knowledge I have of making Wiki pages, I started the eMac page with the history section. Hopefully I did it correctly ;)

I updated the Public Beta with my own description different from the Mactracker info. I'd add my own screenshot as well, but not exactly sure how :)

There is a link entitled "file upload", click on that, upload the file and copy the file name. Then, paste "[[File:filename.extension]]" (without the quotes) where you want the image. Replace 'filename.extension' with the filename you copied earlier.

How do I add a citation? I tried <ref>{{cite web}}</ref> but it gave me a "missing CS1 error" or something like that.
No idea, maybe some light googling will help?
PSA: the server will be down for two/three hours while I add a 2TB HDD, remove the old FW card and install a new NIC. thanks!

The server is back up now! I added more RAM, even though it really didn't need it per-sè. I removed the FW400 card as the Mac mini handles all FW drives and I tried to add a new NIC, but I think its bad. Also, I installed the 2TB HDD and moved the wiki to it, that way we should have lots of room for photos :). Here is the drive (boot drive) that the wiki was previously installed on:

Not so good...

After I roughed out the PM G4 page, I'm glad to see that a lot more information has been added. I cleaned up a little bit of this, and added a little more info.

I want to do more as time permits.

G4 cube page needs some love. As does my cube...

Anyway, bunn, look into getting an account on the wiki (free, obviously) so your edits aren't anonymous.

I believe the final revision of the Quad actually has one of the most reliable versions of the LCS.

From what I've heard yes, although the quad had 2 models. The crappy Delphi one and some other brand that had dual pumps and the radiator was spit into two for each processor. Have yet to own a quad though so I have no experience with those. Delphi systems all day long :D

this is not related to the wiki but I figured id ask here... is the Liquid in the LCS G5s Fluorescent under a UV light? on the wiki it looks bright Green like a highlighter marker but iv also seen it as purple. when I got my 2.7Ghz G5 I decided to pop the cover off and run over it with a F15T8/BLB but nothing showed up that looked like leaks now i don't currently have the right tools to pull the LCS off so im not entirely sure if it could be leaking and it just doesn't glow or I have a good LCS (at any rate i should prolly repast the CPUs)

that aside it Looks like the wiki is comming along Nicely I did some work on the G3 page the other day Mostly on the G3 beige but put a small bit on the B&W for others to expand on if they want

I'm going to focus on some separate Mac OS X pages tomorrow and after that I may do an iWork page if nobody else has done it by then.

Ahh it's like good Samsung panels vs crappy LG ones. Mine was made in Mid-2006 so I'm sure I have a good one :)

I've never seen or heard of a problem with the Quad LCS leaking. All that I've seen have had Delphi systems.

With that said, my Quad does have a(factory installed) plastic drip pan that was originally fitted with a pig mat to soak up any coolant spills. I ended up removing the pig mat, as I was trying to get all the dust out of it and it was up before I removed it. One of the things on my "to do" list for a while has been to fit a replacement.

We get the mats free at work, as they are for padding on chemical shipments for their absorbent properties(they beat the heck out of the box full of vermiculate that the real nasties come in). I have a small horde of them in my office-I often use them as padding for when I'm working on a computer.
