I SO want one to go with my new Mac Pro. So badly. I kinda spent all my Budget on the new mac though for now... Im debating with myself- should I consider leasing one for 24 months and then pay two extra rates on top at the end to own it? This way it would be really affordable for me. Or should I wait Ike 3 months till I have cash again and just order it at once? right now I‘d have to wait 8 weeks anyways.... daayyyyum. I feel like the XDR would really be a huge productivity booster for me just Because of the massive screen real estate that I find always lacking on my 27“.

Not that I'm a fan of encouraging irresponsible spending, but what if in 3 months time the lead time is still 8 weeks? You might be almost half a year away from having one.

If increasing your productivity has direct $$$ benefits... consider the first option.

Doubt that lead time will still be 8 weeks in three months. I don’t think many people are going to keep buying these after initial rush.

If I was you, be happy with your new Mac Pro for now, then there will be another amazing upgrade in 3 months time, after you saved up more.

I ordered XDR nano + vesa Mount + AppleCare for mine. Reviewers say matte finish is good, and the gloss is what has always put me off iMac / iMacPro.

mine currently says arrives 7th-13th Feb.

I think you're right. It's just not worth it shelling out an extra few hundred euros just because I cant wait another two months for this. I have two wonderful Dell 5k Displays that hopefully will finally run smoothly with that new machine :D

Ordered the XDR (with the regular screen) December 10, still shows "Processing". Ironically, the stand was delivered 3 days later on December 13, so there's that. My 27-inch LG feels tiny and I haven't even seen the XDR in person yet.

Wouldn't you be better off for video editing with a curved Ultrawide? Those 34 or 38 inchers seem like they were made with timelines in mind. Then just use whatever format as a dedicated preview monitor alongside that?

I ordered mine within 8 minutes of the open; the website was broken and not working for orders at first so I tried it using the Apple Store app on my phone and it worked. I ordered the nano version and the arrival date is listed at December 20-30. As with some others, my stand arrived on Friday December 13th. I figured screens would be less constrained that the Mac Pros as well; looks like the screens are going to be hard to get as delivery times for one now are listed as mid to late February.

I've not heard of anyone receiving the XDR (including myself) since ordering opened. I wonder why Apple hasn't shipped any yet?

I received my Mac Pro on Tuesday, December 17 but the Display Pro XDR is still "Processing". I'm beginning to hate that word.
You and me both! I waited a week to put in my MacPro order until I read Vincent LaForet's post--I do a ton of high-resolution photography and his comments on the processing of those types of files in Lightroom were exactly what I was hoping to hear. I ordered a 16-core version and I'm dying to get it but it's also saying "Processing." ARRGGGHHH

Question: is it possible for any NON Apple Device to deliver output to this monitor?

Great thanks for doing that. Interesting that there aren't resolutions between native and ideal the way there are with the iMac 5K.
Not too surprising, really, if you think about it: This display has a specially-designed system of 576 lighting zones; those probably have to be mapped perfectly to certain resolutions and refresh rates in order to work correctly.

Meh. If FALD LCD TVs with even fewer zones can be made to work acceptably well with all manner of video content then I don't see that as a limitation.
