They also reported that their source said the new iPhone would use a micro sim card. If that's true I wonder how they would keep people from just sticking that into the iPad and using the iPhone's data plan on the iPad?

That's a good point, but does Apple care? That sounds more like AT&T's problem to me.

Upgrading. I don't really care too much what the phone looks like. I think this prototype or whatever (if it is an iPhone) looks fine enough. I need more space, faster system, and the vibrate switch malfunctions on my current 3G.

I'm in, no matter what it looks like. Have a 3g and my 2 year contract is up in May.

+1. I really doubt the release version will look like this clunky prototype.

Yesterday I said this prototype looked "clunky," but I have to say that it the phone comes off much better in the Gizmodo photos and videos than it did in the blurry Engadget and WeiPhone pics. This could be quite close to the final design, hopefully with a few refinements (getting rid of the infamous seams, for starters).

In any case, I will buy it as soon as it is jailbroken.

I'm starting to think the seams are there for the prototype so that they can easily access the guts. I'm leaning towards they will be flush and the battery will not be accessible in the final version.

"You are eligible for an early upgrade to an iPhone at a reduced discount. Our records indicate that you will be eligible for an upgrade to an iPhone at a discounted price on 06/08/2010 " Yes!!

I have a 3G now and 4.0 is quite slow on it. Not unusable but not very good either. Since I get an upgrade I will get it as soon as I can regardless of what it specifically looks like. Daddy needs a new phone.

oh hell yes!

it would have to be way, way uglier than this to make me not upgrade. way uglier.

i just want it to be much faster than my 3G... and since the 3GS is already faster, this thing should make my head explode. :D

I won't be eligible for a reduced price upgrade until next year :( I would like to, though!

I'll have to see how 4.0 runs on my 3GS and how much of an upgrade the new one would be. I'm sure I could probably cover most of the cost by selling it (I have AppleCare for another year and a half, too), but we'll see.

I will upgrade as long as the features are there to support it. Love the design and if all goes well - I will be getting the new phone! :D

Don't kid yourself everyone. You're all getting it on launch day regardless if it looks like crap, performs like crap, or smells like crap.

I won't be upgrading for the simple reason that it states it has a micro sim. Who the hell wants that? I need to be able to put different sims in and this prevents it. I am out of contract so free to upgrade but this is no upgrade to me.

Of course I'm upgrading :) - I can upgrade every 12 months and it happens to fall on June so happy days :D

In other news, can anyone seem to get past page 39 on the main discussion thread on the leaked stuff?

It's probably better you switch to another phone since you can't think rationally. Perhaps something made by Playskool?

If you have common sense - you can use this - http://microsim-shop.com/
