The iPhone 5s was only out mere hours before threads complaining about it were posted. Nothing new and not surprising.

For me, if the iPad mini does not meet my needs, quality or functionally, I'll return it. Simple as that.

I am a bit concerned about the screen quality but I'll withhold my judgement until it arrives

Out of all the years I have purchased Apple products, I have never had any screen issues on any of the iPads, iPhones, and Macbooks I've bought. Either I am extremely lucky or I am just not as sensitive/nit-picky when it comes to the display.

This has been my experience as well, but I am picky so maybe I have just been super lucky?:D

I must admit that the reports of less than vibrant screens on the Minis have given me pause, as the retina screen is one of the primary reasons for the upgrade. Instead of relying on Internet noise, I am going to to examine the screens myself, and decide then.

I'd say you have been lucky, OP. I've only had one experience ... with the launch iPad 3. If you had seen that gray, yellow, pink and green screen, you would understand.

My Air screen is perfection! If our ordered Retina Mini screen is discolored or washed out or in any other way unacceptable, it will be returned. Has nothing whatsoever to do with OCD!

I have no issues with the Air nor rMini I purchased. I'd like to see some with issues with my own eyes in person. But since the ratio is thousands to one on the favorable side, ....

the reports are all the same people over and over again. they will never be happy

and theres already threads bitching about problems with the screen. Is this just status quo now for every device? Not really....There is a yellowish issue with the rMini.

I agree. If i get a washed out screen Ill go back to the air. I really want the smaller size though. I could care less about the 100 mghz speed difference.

Different types of screens have different hues of colour. You can't expect to see the same colours on different types of screens.

Yes but they are both LCD displays and a super LCD display that's used on the One is as close as you can get to the IPS display of an iPhone/iPad. They are practically the same display.

I guess our definitions of "everyone" are pretty different.

It's a luxury item because it is completely unnecessary. Might be time for you to crack open a dictionary.

Well, if you are going to play the unneccessary card then I got news for ya - in warmer climates clothes arent *really* a neccessity either but, ya know.

Nither are computers, toasters, coffee makers, clocks, lights, anything but bread and water, etc, etc.

I just get sick of these somewhat "guilt laden" posts where we are supposed to feel bad that iPad screen uniformity is our #1 problem in life right now. Heck, Im proud I worked hard enough to get to a point where this is all I have to worry about ;). Sorry.
