Yeah, but they will give the money back after a lawsuit.

I do think the design posted looks cool...since I don't want a larger phone, but wouldn't mind a larger screen (though I don't need one).....I do see potential issues with accidental touching of the sides though.

Thank you. Have you tried to walk around with a bigger phone in your pocket? Makes it look like you have a bonner all day lol.

Please stop with this garbage. Carrying a bigger phone is not hard to fit in your pockets and get out with ease. Nor does it bulge or look huge when making phone calls. Some of you sound so foolish with some of this stuff.

And spare me the "If I want to carry a tablet around all day I'll just use my iPad" speech. A 4 inch phone is no where close to a tablet and not everyone has the means or necessity to purchase a new phone and tablet.

I couln't agree more with this. Jeez......

Plus, if it IS a 4" screen, does anyone really care if the width increases like a third of an inch and keep the same bezel? Go ahead and measure out a third of an inch on a ruler and tell me that matters.

There's no way it will be the same exterior dimensions with an edge to edge and top to bottom screen.

The body itself will be a couple mm wider and taller, but the phone will be slightly thinner than the current model.

Anything else would look ridiculous.

Cripes, that old design? First off, there are components and frame under the screen panel, it can not go side to side. Besides, it looks like ass.

Next!

Ummm....If apple wanted to do an edge to edge display, they could absolutely do it. And yes, the mock up with the stretched screen on the 4 form, looks like ass...Both of them.

The next iPhone, I am confident, will have a 4" display, and the design will be as nice, if not nicer then the 4-4S. All these crappy mock ups don't worry me in the least. If there's one thing I am 100% confident in, it's the design. No matter what it winds up being, it will look awesome. Apple has a TON riding on this next launch. They know what's at stake.

I came from an HTC Thunderbolt that has a 4.3" display. The screen was not too big. It was actually perfect for watching Netflix.

Honestly, I think that iOS should not change too much and the screen should be between 4-4.3". And then a given is that we'd have LTE on Verizon.

Oh and it needs a bezel.

that mockup is ugly.. To make a beautiful phone, people have to agree the phone will be at least a little wider.

I like the look of a no bezel phone, but I have a feeling that in practice it is not a great idea.

LOL......well first there is no third of an inch. That would be around 11/32 which would be the closest which is a bit smaller than 3/8 of an inch which is bigger than a 1/4"

Even a 1/4"(.25) wider would be a lot for a 4" screen. My Vibrant is .14" wider than the iPhone (2.38" vs 2.52") and a tad more than a 1/4" taller(4.49" vs 4.77") and side by size there is a pretty noticible difference.

Um, course course there is a third of an inch. Divide an inch into 3 equal parts. What are you smoking? :)

Secondly, that phone doesn't seem that much bigger than an iPhone to me - not so much that it affects your daily use whatsoever. Plus, I don't believe your dimensions. Put the iPhone on top of it and line them up at the upper left corner. Take a ruler to the width difference and take a picture.

Exactly. Just because it lands between 2 lines on his rulers doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

1/3 in = 8.46666667 millimeters if he wants to look at it that way.

I use a tape measure everyday and nobody ever measures a third if an inch us what I'm saying. Closest to it is 11/32 . Point is, for a phone, that is quite a bit wider for only a 4" screen.

As for not believing those demensions, they are correct. Look them up yourself. It isn't hard . Might take you a whole 30 seconds.
And your right, it isn't all that much bigger but as I said, it also isn't close to a third of an inch wide either. You will see when you look it up. I'm not doing it for you again.

It doesn't have to be on your ruler to be a possible dimension on a phone. Jeez....

Plus, I DID look up the dimensions. The Vibrant is listed at 122.4 x 64.5 mm, which is 4.82" x 2.54". The iPhone 4s is listed at 4.5" x 2.31" right on Apple's iPhone4S page. That a 0.23" difference in width and a 0.32" difference in height, both of which are greater than you state. And I still don't think the Vibrant looks that much different to me - certainly NOT enough to not let you use it with one hand or not fit in your pocket, which was my original point. So everyone just chillax about a 4" phone!!

I honestly think that within a couple of days of using a 4 inch, most users won't even notice a difference. Even if the phone is bigger. I've had a lot of cell phones over the years, as well as other hand held gadgets. You get used to them really quick and forget what the old one was like even quicker.

This is exactly right. I was at ATT yesterday playing with the HTC One X and it seems like a perfect size to me - the nicest phone I've ever handled. Now if I took out my tiny-ish iPhone, I could have gone "OOOOOO!!! The One X is so HUGE"...

Everything is relative.
