I'm holding out for it still - it's a decent amount off stacked with the trade in of my current Ultra. Bit disappointed that Samsung can't get these out to everyone at the same time. I definitely did register for the code and even used two different email addresses.

when you registered it should mentioned about getting £50 off, also the free case and screen protector. On Samsungs pre-order page it mentions the free Watch with the code by the side of it. It also mentions the £30 free credit for the Galaxy store and the free 12 months of Disney+

Not had anything apart from introducing s24 series email
 
Meh. I like the flat screen but otherwise it's hardly much of an upgrade on the S23U. The camera has yet to be confirmed as an upgrade and may actually end up being a downgrade...

Very limited value for some of us.

I do not use any digital assistant so whatever is getting baked in there is of no value
Circle to Search is convenient though not worth a subscription fee
Live Translate is cool but not needed for my purposes
Chat assistant, Notes "enhancements" - nope
Consumer-grade photo AI features would be helpful/convenient. I already use LrC on a Mac (with its own AI feature set) for photo processing

I don't use Alexa/Hey Google/Siri etc and always switch them off when I get a new phone. That stuff just doesn't interest me and I don't need AI helping me to use my phone either. Whether I'm missing out on cool stuff I'll never know and I'm good with that.

Completely understand.

I’m only acknowledging that majority of smartphone makers are focusing on AI features… the post I was responding to made it seem Samsung was the only one.

so why even buy a smart phone then....you don't seem to like the things that make them smart.
I mean look at Google on a smart phone or navigation. those are AI. Every smartphone is full of AI features. some are in the forefront and some are behind the scenes. Some behind the scenes features like machine learning is AI. these are the things that prioritize battery life and processing. The more phone makers incorporate AI into their phones the better and faster and more efficient the phones become.

Adding enhancements like the circle search and AI based photo editing is a huge step forward for the smartphone space.
Not that long ago those kind of features were behind an expensive software paywall. You could only get these features by paying for third party software.

I mean everyone has their own use cases on what is important to them. But I am very excited to see all the AI enhancements coming to smartphones.

circle search looks great, mix that with the Spen and I think it will be even better. I own a Google mini and a HomePod, I don’t use them that often but I also like the things they can do.

I think Samsung are putting some nice AI features in their phones, however I also think they are going down the wrong road with possibly charging for them in 2026.
BUT I did think about this one, what if they are not going to charge for features like Circle to search and the others they have announced for the S24 range. What they could be doing is waiting until the Galaxy Ring is released and then charging for the health AI features that will come with it and are baked into the S24 already.

I really hope you are right....I hope they don't charge for the already announced Features. That would spoil it for me.
I mean personally I already pay Google for extra storage, I pay Apple for extra storage and for music. I pay ChatGPT for their annual subscription. I am getting subscription fatigue....

On another note, I have always considered Pixel phones as technologically more advanced than other phones because of the AI features they have baked into the phone. IMHO from what I have seen for the Galaxy S24U, Samsung might be taking that crown from Google. I can't wait to try the P8P and S24U side by side.

Oh I agree, I pay for iCloud storage as part of my Apple One bundle (I love Apple TV+ and Apple Music) also Google One had a great offer so I signed up for that. I also have subscription for Netflix, Paramount Plus and ITVX (use to be called BritBox) here in the UK. I don't want anymore subscriptions!

It's nice that Samsung are once again giving Disney+ free for a year, but I won't be paying for it once that year is over (not since Disney have raised the price to over £100 for a year).

Samsung would be wise to not charge for the already existing AI features that were announced, it's just a guess at this point, what I think makes more sense. That Galaxy Ring won't be out yet and when it does come out there will be health features with it that they may charge a subscription for, at least in my opinion.

Primarily for hardware improvements and extended software support.

I'm good with using the built-in features and not paying for added AI "brilliance enhancements for a fee". If Samsung gives it away for 2-years and then starts charging for all of those features, they are nothing more than digital drug dealers 🙂

If they only subscribe-wall some enhanced AI features off, that's fine by me.

I use AI-enhanced applications on my personal computers and deploy AI and ML infrastructure at work. Don't need that on my mobile phone so far. Maybe one day.

I helped build out the OpenAI in my firms test and QA Azure tenants a couple months ago. Soon to roll out to prod.
One specific use case we deployed is for the Help desk as a help assistant. When tech support gets a incident or work order or a customer call, the help desk agent can check in the AI chat bot for any knowledge based articles to help the customer. It has sped up the resolution times for that department.

The most I've spent on one is 2011 Martin D-28p. Purchased it from a retired pro musician for $1800 cash, including a Fender Princeton 2x10 amp. Many instruments these days are not made nearly as well as they used to be in my opinion.

I'm going to pass on this release as I didn't see any trade in value worth jumping in ...

I'm thinking the AI stuff they are getting from a third party is Google right? And maybe why you only get a little bit of free time before Google charges Sammy and they pass along to the consumer..
