oh i thought you meant photo editing. No google is top of the line when it comes to call screening. Sorry i haven't really tested voice dictation to compare the 2 of them. But voice to text when sending messages seems to work the same for me. Oh and Google excels at contextual searches and replies for their digital assistant as well. but then both phones have the same app doing that.Hmmm.. voice to dictation? Call screening?
I've not seen any phone close to Pixel but it's been almost 9 months since my last Samsung

I would have got a pixel 8 pro if there wasn’t features missing. Not just missing for a valid reason either, not when features like summarise are on the S24 Ultra, but not the Pixel in the UK.
If Google care about customers internationally, they should give us all the same features.

You've put it quite eloquently.
This is but 1 of 2 things Samsung needs to do and improve.
1. Customer Service = Client Service.
I'm not sure what this equates to in S. Korea, their head office, but it must be different. They seem to be stuck into the Henry Ford era "You build it and they'll come". The Oppo Find N3 should've woke them up to this already.
Retaining customers deserves JUST as much effort as obtaining them.
- They're great at new sales and trade-ins to retain customers,
- They're great at new services without charging cvustomers and having great breadth to them such as Fitness!
(If you haven't taking a look at the sources for exercises you REALLY NEED to! Apple is just from Apple alone, terrible).
^ Samsung has the retail stores they just need to stop immediately doubting customers at first point of contact. Also trade in's and repairs should be postage handled by them and FULLY insured by THEM!
2. Marketing.
Their youtube and Samsung Members App has great marketing, more engaging and showing customers what you get from using their products. but at Launch its terrible. Launch products should show what you, and how beneficial it is to use (2024 got better but far too short). Relax on the buzzwords and pop-culture themes, as anyone knows their as fleeting as a 1 hit wonder on FM radio. Yeah if you don't know what FM radio is - you got the point: 'THATs how fleeting it gets. 😉

The Best Take feature is fantastic. The S24U may have surpassed the P8P as my favorite device for a daily driver, however the Pixel 8 Pro is still my favorite camera because it is just so dependable and the versatility it has. Right now the S24U is my daily but in any situation I will be taking family pics, pics with the kids sports teams, etc., the Pixel will get my SIM.

So I have been using the Flolab anti reflective screen protector and despite the ridiculous cost seems to be pretty good.
It really resists fingerprints and smudges for a while. The AR coating is good and makes a difference and let's you have the immerssive feeling of original screen with protection. It is not perfect though and still causes more reflection than a bare screen.
So I recommend it with the caveat that I would like even better AR coating on the protector. But if you don't want to risk damaging your screen this is a decent compromise.
The installation was easy and error free. I think $40 for two screen protectors is crazy but until there is another alternative it is worth it in my opinion.

All the doom and gloom in here I thought I would post some alternative perspectives.
I have been saying it is too early to judge the cameras on first release software. I have been saying that the screen is honestly the best I have ever seen and I have described my personal experiences with Samsung customer service as overall positive. Obviously there are still some issues Samsung needs to resolve but there is at least a reason to believe updates will solve most if not all issues in time besides defects of course.
Samsung offers the best deals and trade in offers as well.
I am not saying any other brand is inferior. What I am saying is that Samsung has improved in multiple ways and the Ultra is a great example.

That one thing that bugs me about Google it's the US first & everybody else second, when you buy a Pixel regardless what country your in you should all get the same features.
I personally think Samsung might get a few more Google AI features later on down the line like best take etc, obviously they be Pixel timed exclusive for a while, but Samsung will chuck money at Google for these current AI features & future AI features what ever they be beyond 2024, hence the reason you might have to pay for the privilege come end of 2025.
Hopefully Samsung see's sense & doesn't do this because otherwise it could give other manufactures the excuse they need to also put new features be it AI etc behind a paywall, & Apple being Apple will be the first to follow suite if it means extra revenue because they know alot of Apple users will just except this and pay.

Samsung is top tier for Customer Service and actually Apple is pretty bad. For example I have a friend with defect in his iPad screen since the first week that won't even bother go to an Apple store because they will not move a finger.
On the other hand I never heard a single complaint from Samsung customer service, especially if you go to a Samsung Store

But they only get one chance to make a first impression, Samsung shouldn’t have released it if the software wasn’t there. Just like when Apple made mistakes with the iPhone 15 software, which lead me to cancel my pre-order.
There will be updates definitely, I don’t doubt that it will get better especially the camera. It is a great phone don’t get me wrong, the AI stuff is interesting and for the most part helpful (apart from when it doesnt work well in the photo editing)
Samsung deals are great, they definitely incentivise to buy a Galaxy.

You can say the same thing about every new phone. The iPhone as you mentioned AND the Pixel 8 as well. They all had software issues that required an update shortly after release.
If your requirement for a new phone is no software issues...you might not be buying a new phone for a while. Because they all require software fixes and updates regularly.

True, it's not a requirement as such it's just annoying that the phones are not ready when sent out. Not ordering a Pixel wasn't because of software issues, more because in the UK there are features missing that should be.
I've just ordered a 15 Pro Max, if Google aren't going to give those of us in the UK all the same features that the US get, then I might as well stick with what I know.

The only reason I didn't originally was because it had those heating issues at launch, but Apple have fixed it with software updates.
