I bought a Saft license and used it while I went through my Safari phase. At the end, I really didn't like how deeply it got its hooks in but was worth it for the undo close tabs alone. Uninstalling Saft can be a pain in the but unless you know specifically how to uninstall it. Otherwise, keeps coming back. Like a piece of Windows malware.

Addon system is a wonder and its vast positives should not be diminished by small number of negatives.

For such a system, the stability and usability of firefox is remarkably well. Which is another point to be applauded for.

more flexibility causing system to be unstable is loaded crap from apple, its a proof of its inability and poor developing strength and not good enough program structure, it shows nothing about anything else. Apple tried to deceive users when iPhone was first out with this exactly same lame excuse for its refusal of 3rd party apps.

Listen, you're preaching to the choir.

I use FF as my primary browser on all of my platforms, Win, OSX, & *nix. It has the best balance of versatility, extensibility, and stability for my needs.

OTOH, there are things that other browsers do better. To you and me, these are minor advantages that are not outweighed by the disadvantages they present. To others, these could certainly be very valid reasons for which you and I have very little say because these people have made their choice.

There's reasons that I think are completely without merit. Better integration? Okay, maybe. Loyalty to Apple? Huh? WTF is loyalty to a corporation going to get you?

That said, if that's their choice, then so be it. Why spend so much time telling them they're wrong?

A great reason to use firefox is that you can have it set up exactly the same on any os you have installed. Get FoxMarks (didnt they change their name?) and you will never miss anything when switching OSs.

What is the closest Appearance / Addon for Firefox to make it look just like Safari? 😉 Or is it a Theme? 😱

I like to use GrApple Crisp, but there are quite a few themes that give the fabled "mac feel."

I mentioned many times in many other posts. I have no problem with anybody picking any browser for whatever reason.

However, I don't think people is actively picking browsers, rather, I think they are mostly just use whatever the OS gives them.

I do like to ask people to try for themselves different options, safari is a bundled browser, while firefox is not, I enjoy spreading the information, and countering misinformation regarding browsers through the course.

I don't really care too much about the effects here, after all, MR is a small portion of mac userbase. But since Im here, i will not sit quietly watching people making up ridiculous statements about browsers and think they won't be called out for it.

I hate to see all these people quoting benchmarks of how Safari is faster than Firefox. The benchmarks translate to maybe half a second difference in the rendering of a select set of pages, and in Flash benchmarks Firefox comes out ahead. The minimal gains in page rendering speed are not going to help if you find a browser uncomfortable to use, and the time gained from page loading will be lost struggling to conform to the browser.
